Fruits of Autumn by Janyce Cotterill

In the UK we are moving well into the Autumnal season now, and as I said in a recent previous community news, each season brings its own joys and offerings. So despite the shorter days and the temperature dropping, Autumn can still hold her own with all she offers and here are some of her fruits. These were taken when out on our usual local walks. I hope all you are staying safe, we are still in difficult times of course, but just reading about nature or getting out and about when, and if, we are able, I find, really helps and you can get your mind off the current difficulties we are encountering for a short time. Arent we lucky to be able to indulge in our favourite pastime by just popping on the cup website and downloading a few sheets or browsing all the wonderful things the cup site has to offer without going outdoors! Everything has an upside! Im leaving you with two of my latest Christmas mini kits which I uploaded this week. I hope you like them and thank you for your interest.

Autumn Colour! by Sue Way

I love my garden but admit to being a bit of a fairweather gardener. I am trying to change that I am popping out and deadheading on dry days to try to keep a bit of summer colour going. While the weather was still nice I potted up a few hanging baskets and grouped some pots with Autumn bedding plants that hopefully will last through the winter too. I have put this group in the back garden so that I can see it through the kitchen and conservatory windows, so if the weather means I cant get outside at least I still have something pretty to look at. I hope you are all keeping safe and well. Thank you for continuing to support us. https://www.craftsuprint.com/sue-way/

Zion National Park, Utah, USA. by Sandie Burchell

On our trip to Utah last week, apart from Bryce Canyon National Park we also visited Zion National Park which is further South. I can only describe the landscape as majestic. It is different from Bryce Canyon due to the colour of the mountains. Zion is more greys whereas Bryce is more oranges. The road through Bryce Canyon was more looking down into the Canyon but in Zion, the road is below and you are looking up at the mountains all the time. My photograph really doesnt convey the vast size of the mountains. There have been many films recorded in Zion National Park including the famous Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid in 1969.There are lots of things to do at Zion including hiking, camping, canyoneering, horseback riding, and backpacking.A stunning place to visit!

I have more Shop Mini Kits. Please click on one of the links and scroll down to related products and you will see the other designs in this series. They are currently on Special Offer. Quick and easy to make and sure to impress.Thank you for looking! x

Lest We Forget by Janice McFarlane

So a lot of collective events have been cancelled this year due to the virus. Halloween will be limited and public firework displays cancelled, also the Remembrance Celebrations. Although parades etc., wont be able to go ahead this does not mean we still cant remember those who gave their all for us in whatever conflicts there have been. We can decorate our windows, and still observe a two minute silence at the 11th hour on the 11th day of November. We can still support charities like the Royal British Legion and Help for Heroes etc., and whatever appropriate charities the allied countries have in place. I decided as well as designing various kits for this occasion, I would crochet some poppies and make brooches. I have done some corsages with Red and Purple Poppies, (purple poppies, to remember all the war animals killed during their roles in conflict) Single Red and Purple Poppies. To make it even more special I made some little gift boxes for each one. These will be sold locally and all funds raised go to either the Royal British Legion or Help for Heroes. We may be limited this year, but can all do our part in remembering those who gave their lives in war.

Wedgetail by Vicki Avcin

There is a plane that comes over Hervey Bay every couple of weeks that causes controversy every time she flies over. This strange looking plane is the RAAF E-7A Wedgetail . Based on a Boeing 737-700 it has this surfboard like fixture on top which is an advanced Multi-Role Electronically Scanned Array (MESA) radar. These planes provide Australia with one of the most advanced air battle space management capabilities in the world.Their visits to Hervey Bay are training runs although many have their own version of why they are up here. Currently the favourite excuse is that they are looking for Victorian numberplates (cars) that have escaped Victoria being that Victoria is locked out to all the other states due to Covid-19. But in fact it is all a normal part of their training exercises. The plane will do several circuits around the Bay and do touch and gos at the airport. We have them fly directly over our house at about 1000 feet which makes for an awesome sight. Rather noisy but none the less rather exciting to see these big birds fly over. They come from Williamstown airbase in NSW and fly back in a single mission. They are capable of covering four million square kilometres during a single 10-hour mission.
