Meet .... by Carol Clarke

... the neighbours at the bottom of my garden! lol We are lucky enough to have rolling countryside and farmers fields to look out on from the back of our house. Although we live in Nottinghamshire we can see all the way to the Derbyshire hills! We dont have a lot of problems with our Bovine neighbours, except that they do like to trim any plants that dare to show themselves over the top of our fence! lol Below are 2 of my Christmas Sleeps till Santa Countdown designs. A great way to count down the days till Santa comes!

Rabbit Hill by Janice McFarlane

My two grandchildrens latest adventure is doing some modelling for a bespoke T-Shirt Company. Its mainly Harry the youngest, but Alfie agreed to do a one off. The owner is a friend of my daughters, and the pictures were taken by my daughter, who seems to have a creative knack for capturing natural shots at just the right moment. (Even though she doesnt say she is artistic, some of her photos have been fabulous). She tends to take them whilst they are out and about on a normal day. Each day in the early evening as a family they go for a walk, the RAF camp where they live has an area called Rabbit Hill, I think the name is quite explanatory, but the boys love it. Social distancing isnt a problem, Roxy their dog loves it and there are plenty of trees to climb, which Alfie and Harry seem to be experts at. This area was a great chance to snap the kids naturally whilst modelling the T-shirts. At the end of it all she took a beautiful shot of Alfie and Harry on the old wooden bench at the top of the hill at sunset, which looks down on the Camp where they live.

Littlest Pink One ... by Sue Way

Last weekend we had a lovely day visiting our youngest granddaughter. She is 5 and a half months now, but so knowing and she definitely recognised us. Our son bought her out to the car and she looked in the window and started telling us all her news. Then she was so relaxed sitting on my lap. I really felt like her nanny. We had a lovely little sing song too We went for a long relaxing walk around Victoria park followed by yummy take away Thai food. A perfect day

A Mad Baking Day by Deborah Davies

I really fancied something sweet but I didnt want to go out to buy chocolate or sweeties! I then recalled memories from my childhood. On a Sunday after Church we used to help Mum bake cakes and pastries for Sunday Tea.My favourites were apple pie with ice cream, scones with clotted cream or cream horns! As you can see from pic I baked a couple of my favourites, It is surprising what you have lurking in the back of your kitchen cupboard.........

Mushroom walk by Judith Henry

Every time I go for a walk with my dog we are on the look out for something new in nature. Mostly what is blooming at the time. This week we discovered a different natural beauty. The mushroom caps just seem to be hovering between the wall and some moss. The contrast in color was refreshing to see. Im going to try and remember where we saw them to see how the grow as fall starts to come to Iowa.

Afterburner Action by Tina Fitch

This week was very busy down at the Heath! Both 48th Fighter Wing and Aviano AFB were playing out till late hours.. Caught quite a few with Burners after a low approach over the Lakenheath Runway. They were also using 06 Runway which meant launching towards us photographers which was a dream to capture... Normally they run off 2.4 runway which is harder to catch through the fence.Trouble is 06 runway is okay for launches but to catch them land means going to other end of runway and where the parking is very limited its best not to move from your spot.. Moving means you lose your spot and cant get back to a decent place for shots so I rather stay where I am.I caught the 494th Panther Squadron nicely as he came over the runway Low approach...You can see the burn from his tail.. And the noise was just superb!Do love a noisy F15 LOLhttps://www.craftsuprint.com/tina-fitch/

Snakey by Vicki Avcin

The other day the neighbour was out in the yard painting tyres and we asked her what she was doing. She said it was a surprise and even her hubby didnt know what she was doing. Next thing we see hubby is cutting the tyres in half. We thought possibly she was doing something for the upcoming Community Associations Christmas lights competition as each year they put up a lot of Christmas lights around. Our Community Association is having its first ever Christmas Lights this year for the residents because of our location, we live just outside of town and with all the main areas in town having their own competition, thought it would be great to have something this end of town. Weve been busy getting sponsors for prizes and it has everyone around here excited and working on their displays. Anyway back to the tyres. A couple of hours later, the neighbour sent us this photo of her new addition to the garden! We have plenty of carpet snakes around here as we live in a rural area with plenty of bushland so not uncommon to find them around. They are non venomous and great to keep the vermin (rats/mice) population down. They even find their way into peoples chook pens too. But I dont think this fellow will do much to keep anything down.
