Alfie Loses His Elephant by Janice McFarlane

A few weeks ago I wrote about my grandson Alfie, who told his mum when he grew up he wanted to be an Orphan. What he meant was AUTHOR. He had written a short story about losing his beloved elephant, which his mum then asked me if I could turn it into a book for him, but also designs it as a lift the flap book so his little brother Harry could enjoy it. It was a challenge doing graphics and sourcing backgrounds so everything had some kind of continuity, not to mention making sure Elephant looked similar to Alfies elephant. Harry was also included in the story along with his favourite rabbit. It did take a while to do, especially working out the attic scene as I didnt want Harry to just lift the flap and Alfie was there. I had to make it more difficult by wanting Alfie to pop up as the flap was lifted. Thankfully I did work out how to do it and I am pleased with the results. I also wanted to give a bit of realism like an actual published book by adding a little synopsis of the story and an about the author on the back. I am pleased with the result and cant wait to see Alfies face when I give it to him.

Its been 17 years! by Vicki Avcin

Again Facebook has kept friends together. Love it or hate it, Facebook is good for keeping friendships strong when family and friends have distance between them. Hubby used to work with Martin many years ago and through Facebook they have kept in touch. So much water has passed under the bridge and yet they have stayed in touch. Martins fiance Lyndal was with Martin all those years ago but broke up and they went their separate way only to get back together a couple of years ago and they are now engaged. True love always works out. So when Martin and Lyndal took holidays this year, they stopped in for a couple of days on their way back to Brisbane. Although I had never met Lyndal I instantly felt like I knew her and the boys picked up where theyd left off all those years ago as if it had only been a week since they spoke. We had a wonderful time and hopefully they will come up for weekends every now and then. They loved Hervey Bay and were thrilled when down where the barge goes to Fraser Is, to see a mum and baby dolphin frolicking just off the car park.

Two more uniquely Australian Christmas cards featuring flora and fauna from Australia. Check out my traditional Christmas designs too

RV Life by Sharon Vieira

This year has been a crazy one in so many ways but also has allowed me to realize things I wouldnt have other wise. Once the kids were to remain home from school for the rest of the year we have decided when the weather permitted we would head out to our RV on my Mothers Property out in the country . We Live in a City of 2 million and our backyard didnt even have grass so this was a good move especially for my little ones. We had made it our little home away from home. We had a nice fence put up, the pool was up , they had a sandbox and my wonderful mother even bought a little tent for a them to hand out and have somewhat a fort . We put up a clothes hanger and for the first time ever I had my own vegetable garden! We were surrounded by trees and blue skies and it oh so beautiful. The kids got to run around and we went on hikes . 2020 Lock down was much different now. what a beautiful experience we did have through this hard and scary time. Now school is coming up and my husband and I have decided to do the online learning with our school for the first couple of months to be safe. We are headed back to the city in as little as 2 weeks. But I will always have this summer on my heart and mind . was a blessing through the madness. Hope everyone is safe and well xo Blessings xo Sharon Vieira

MASKS ARE DE RIGEUR IN FRANCE by Wanda Lipski

Many, many places in France have now made masks compulsory even outdoors, so my darling husband, in an effort to protect me brought me my evening cup of tea (yes, hes a positive sweetie, brings me breakfast in bed too) wearing a mask. at least that gave me one good laugh during the day. My recent additions have been in response to customer requests, so I hope youll take a peek at my latest uploads. Stay safe, have a giggle at hubby and ENJOY!

If .... by Carol Clarke

... You go down to the woods today ..... Well I was in for a surprise! lol At first glance from quite a way away through the trees I thought it was a real deer!! It wasnt till I got closer I saw it wasnt .... and then ... gulp ... I realised it was actually an archery target!! Luckily for me there didnt seem to be any archers around, but I shouldnt have been surprised as the area was part of Sherwood Forest in Robin Hoods time! lol Below are 2 of my Pretty Butterfly & Flowers Easel Card Mini Kits.

A Coffee in a Telephone Box by Deborah Davies

My friend and I go on a few short breaks a year, especially as this year as we didnt feel safe going abroad. We decided on a spa break in the land of Shakespeare Stratford-upon-Avon. It was amazing and lots of historical buildings to explore from the birth place of Shakespeare and that of Anne Hathaway to the canals with which are lovely to gaze at while having a cheeky gin cocktail. The picture I have attached was the most unique thing I have seen.... A vintage telephone box which had been turned into a provider of the most stunningly smooth Columbian coffee, I was fascinated.

Styal Village by Carol Dunne

We are very fortunate where I live to have so many historical places to visit. This place called Styal Village and was built by Samuel Greg around 1806 to house his workers in Quarry Bank Mill which is near Manchester airport. He planned the village so that his workers had a healthy environment. The village also had allotments for the people to grow their own vegetables. He believed that healthy workers would work harder. The cottages were quite comfortable compared to the cramped conditions of the towns, although there was only one privy which had to be shared by the whole street.

A Relaxing Walk by Sue Way

We are really missing getting away in our caravan this year and every time we try to go out for the day, the weather seems to be against us, either too windy and raining or too hot for Billy our dog. So when we had a couple of warm, breezy days at the weekend, we decided to try a walk that isnt too far away but we had never done. It is in the little seaside town where our daughter lives. We walked along a footpath that goes along the seafront away from the town, with rolling fields on the other side. Then we followed a path away from the sea, before turning back. We are going to try another path next week as it was so relaxing walking in the English countryside, with sheep and cows sharing a field on one side and the rolling waves on the other. Billy was fascinated by the sheep, but barked at the cows! My SALE starts today with 20% off of ALL my designs!

Last vacation before isolation by Judith Henry

We had a wonderful trip last fall to the northwest coast of the US. In particular we went to Seattle first. It was before we even heard of Covid-19. The weather was wet at this time of year but that didnt dampen our enjoyment. The space needle was something I have always wanted to see. Standing on the glass floor was very frightening. but the glass displays in the green house gardens below were beautiful.
