My daughter, her husband and two daughters took to the rode to visit the national parks in our less populates states in the west. This was a wonderful learning experience in a safe environment of the vast open spaces. Camping in the big skies among the mountains, deserts, and national monument will be a memory to treasure.

I have always loved planes and used to spend ages at the airport just watching the big silver birds coming and going. I still go out to the viewing platform at the Brisbane airport when Im down there. But through the wonders of technology I can watch at home…. Not quite the same but it satisfies my fix. With the live crosses to airports I can see and still get to hear the power of the engines as they lift the big birds up into the sky. The other day I had the absolute delight of watching the Antonov 225 as she called into an airport in Scotland to refuel on her way to France.What a magnificent flying machine she is. Built in Ukraine to originally carry a space plane (Buran), she was completed in 1988 and this is why there is no centre tail stabiliser and 2 bumps on the topas the spaceplanes sat on the aircraft.. Mothballed for 8 years she was refurbished and reintroduced as a cargo plane for over size payloads. Unlike most cargo planes she does not have a rear door but instead the nose lifts, and she kneels on her front wheels and is loaded from the front. Bigger than the A380s she has been in and out of service over the years but is now being used for freight during the Covid pandemic. She holds over 200 world records for the amount and size of cargo she has carried. So of course I was fascinated watching her come in to land, taxi round the airport and after refuelling take off. Isnt she a beauty? If she ever comes back to Brisbane I hope Im down there to see her.

Due to the fact that my colleagues and I admitted that we may have become less active and add a few pounds to our waistlines lol. We were looking for tasty but healthy alternatives.I remember when I attended Slimmers World I lost or retained a good weight when I was eating things like omelette and scrambled eggs and felt full, where as five minutes after I have had a salad, I am hungry.Herewith my latest tasty ....... My Needle Felties by Janice McFarlane

I have been still honing my skills of needle felting with a number of different projects. I thought I would have a go at a Santa and Gnome which were fairly easy to do and I am rather pleased the way they came out. The next project was a fallow deer which was in one of my needle felting books. This one was a little trickier as it required wired armature for the body, legs and antlers before then starting to needle felt. It was quite fiddley, especially the legs, but I am really pleased with the result. Then I bought a Needle felting Otter kit, as my husband loves otters. It wasnt that the project was hard, it was the fact the instructions were all in Japanese, so it was a bit of guess work. I decided to make this little otter a companion, of an otter floating on his back, the instructions for this was in one of my books. I am really pleased with how my new found hobby is progressing, and I plan to mount the deer and the otters onto a base and creates a scene.
