Donald Dump by Lesley Earing

My grandchildren love Donald Trump and Boris. The little one struggles to say Trump, so hes now known as Donald dump in their house. They spotted a Donald Trump lookalike on Ninja warrior . He didnt get far before he fell into the water. They kept replaying it over and over shrieking with laughter. I spotted the masks on amazon and thought that they would love them. They brought a smile to my face.

I have chosen these cards made from Janyce Cotterills great designs.

Going Walkies by Vicki Avcin

We still are babysitting our Granddaughters cat. Georgia is her name but she usually gets called Meow Meow or lately Princess. She came to us a scared and timid kitty who would always hide under beds, she would never sit on a chair or bed in the open. She hated being touched and growled if you tried to pat her. If a male was in the room she was terrified. This we believe is because of the treatment that her mothers boyfriend at the time (now an ex) was dishing out to her. She wouldnt go outside at all. Thankfully she is a very clean kitty and there has never been an instance when she didnt use her kitty litter (thankfully). Because the granddaughter couldnt have her where she lives with her Dad now due to them renting, we were asked if wed take her for a few months. Well its been well over a year now and Georgia is still with us and a totally different kitty. Her favourite place to curl up these days is on my lounge chair, or on our bed. In the afternoons she will actually come and hop up on either hubbys or my lap and have cuddles while we have our nanny and poppy naps. She actually looks for us and gets rather indignant if we dont sit down so she can have her cuddles. Last couple of weeks weve been letting her outside while we are out but I worry that something will spook her and shell take off so we brought a harness for her. Didnt know how shed take to having it on but there was not one bit of resistance to the point that she will go sit on the chair by the door, where the harness is and meow until its put on and we take her out. She loves it! Still is hesitant about going too far from the house but has learnt her way right round the house now and is happy walking and exploring. She is a gorgeous girl and so glad she finally has faith in us and knows we love her and no harm will come to her. This is a first for us too as in the 50 years Ive had cats, Ive never had a harness for any others! This is Georgia on one of her outings.

Todays designs feature a beautiful card for a Birthday for someone special or a wedding or Valentines day and the other isa design for the bike rider in your life. Both quick and easy to make up too.

Sunshiny Days by Janice McFarlane

Well, Ive lost count now of days, dates, days of the week etc. A little bit of cabin fever has set in. On Tuesday of this last week I woke up thinking it was Saturday. I have to look at the calendar umpteen times to check. Anyway whilst I am going stir crazy my two grandsons are having a much better time of it, and making the most of the sunshine. Each day my daughter goes out for a daily walk with them. They are fortunate, as the RAF camp where they live has an area called Rabbit Hill and its a good walk to give them some exercise as well as maintaining good social distancing. The boys love to climb the trees along the way. With the weather being warmer they have a paddling pool up in the garden which they make the most of. Harry has got into Toy story at the moment so Woody is also going on the walks, and he also likes to have a kind of breakfast tea party with Woody and Jessie. The picture that made me laugh the most this week was Harry falling asleep in his little chair in the garden. He looked like a little old man having a snooze. Well at least the numerous photos my daughter sends me keeps me going.

Turtle by Tina Fitch

My local pond gave me a smile this weekRoughly 20 years ago we bought our eldest daughter some terrapins. Wed never had anything like them before and really shouldve done some research.Anyway a couple of weeks passed with my daughter looking after her new pets when one morning we got up and they looked dead! We left them for couple of days just to make sure. They didnt move do we presumed they had diedSo we did no more than hold a funeral in the garden and buried them. A few weeks later we were told they hibernate lol. So we rush home to dig them up. Well to our surprise theyd gone. End of story so we thought We live about a mile from our local common that has a big pond. On Sunday me and hubby went to feed ducks and geese and to our horror saw this little head pop out of the water. Is that our terrapin? Looked like it! I wonder if they escaped and found their way to the pond. Still smiling now writing this hahaha

Cygnets on the lake by Gail Collins

This lake is across the road from my house. i have lived here since 1962. every year there will be ducklings and cygnets on the lake but the last 3 years have been so unlucky 2 years ago the pen was killed as she sat on her eggs, it was heartbreaking then the next two year after a new pair took over the cygnets were gone with 24 hrs. Last year 2 survived out of 8, this year there are 7 and so far , they have survived but they are less than a week old. so fingers crossed for them.

VE DAY ... FRENCH STYLE by Wanda Lipski

There may not be many WWII names of on village monuments but the 8th May is a bank holiday and traditionally there is a ceremony at the memorial at 11 am. This year ... at 10 to 11 no sign of any activity so my husband, official flag bearer for the Royal British Legion and I held our own ceremony, with me playing the Marseillaise and the Chant des Partisans ... THE song of the Resistance at memorial. Wed just got back home, put away the accordion when we say 5 members of the town hall turning up for the official ceremony at a very unofficial time. French flag bearer had been banned by the government, but hubby claimed that as he was representing the British ... More accordion solos and then back home for photos on balcony, that made the local RBL newsletter.

Ear protectors by Carol Dunne

I have been doing my bit to help out with NHS and care workers at local old folks homes. These ear protectors stop the face mask elastics from cutting into your ears when the masks are worn for hours on end. You put them at the back of your head and the elastic attached to the mask goes around the buttons instead of your ears. They dont take me long to crochet and good for using up all my spare bits of cotton yarn.
