Down the Rabbit Hole by Janice McFarlane

Last weekend my two grandsons went to visit Alice in the Palace at Blenheim Palace. It is a regular venue of theirs to go to different events. This time inside the palace was a recreation of Alice in Wonderland. There was so much for them to see, and looked amazing from all of the pictures my daughter sent me. The Mad Hatter and friends were certainly having a mad tea party, as the table was huge. There was even a little door to peer into, set in the wall. Alice seemed to be having a meaningful conversation with the barmy Cheshire Cat, whilst the White Rabbit seemed to have a rest in a comfy armchair after all the rushing about. Perhaps he wasnt late after all!

Happy New Year! by Sue Way

On New Years Eve, my daughter Kelly, her hubby and our grandaughters Jessica and Imogen came to celebrate with us. We started the evening with a lovely meal out, then we had a relaxing evening at home, drinking & listening to music on TV until it was time for Jools Hollands Hootenanny, which we watch every year as he counts down to midnight. We all hugged and danced to Auld Lang Syne. They stayed the night, then after a very late breakfast, hubby and I took the girls and Billy for some fresh air on the beach. Even though it was cold out the girls wanted icecream brrrrr! Here are a couple of my best selling Scalloped Round Easel card mini kits http://www.craftsuprint.com/sue-way/?r=968387

Brrrr ... by Carol Clarke

... It was a cold, dark and damp day for our Cuddle and Giggle Day this week ... soooo we decided to have an indoor picnic and play day at home instead! This was fine to begin with for seven year old Olivia and 4 year old Austin but they soon got a bit bored. Especially as we dont have any of the hand held electronic devices soo loved by youngsters today. I had a brainwave though and went to find some of the old fashioned toys and games that were left over from when our children had left home ... and we all had a fun filled day of laughter! lol Below are two of my NEWEST A Touch of Elegance Birthday Flowers, Lace, Butterflies & Pearls Easel Cards. Watch out for more ... Coming Soon! lol

Aussie Fires by Vicki Avcin

Well sadly this week fires are still burning uncontrollably across Australia with little reprieve from the bad fire conditions. WA has had some good rain over the last couple of days through the central areas of the state from TC Blake. Hopefully the rain will make its way further to the east to give some of SA a break. Kangaroo Island in SA has all but been wiped out by these fires. Kangaroo Island has lost a large percentage of its wildlife sadly. The koalas on Kangaroo Island where the only population of koalas that were free from Chlamydia in Australia and they are now thought to be predominately wiped out. Currently fires in NSW and Victoria are still raging and although some light rain fell over some parts of NSW the last couple of days it has had no impact in putting out the fires. In fact its hampered firefighters efforts to get backburns put in before the weather turned bad again today (Friday). The fire burning on the NSW and Victorian border is expected to join and become a mega fire today and/or on Saturday. Fires still burning through out the eastern seaboard of Queensland but thankfully it has quietened somewhere with brigades able to contain fires more easily at the moment. As fires continue to rip through Australia, some devastating numbers are emerging: At least 24 people killed. More than 15.6 million acres burnt. Over 1,400 homes destroyed. And, according to one biodiversity experts count, an estimated 1 billion animals killed. Finally though the monsoon rains look like they are kicking in around the northern part of Australia and the weather seems to finally be taking a more normal pattern for this time of year, and therefore bringing more rain…… a lot more than weve seen in the past 12 months. If you are a praying person….. please pray that these rains kick in soon. Our firefighters are exhausted and the crews coming from Canada and the USA are a welcome addition to the firefighting efforts. We thank them so much for giving up the time with their families (especially those who where here over Christmas/NY) to help out.
