My grand daughters on Christmas day, 2019. They are getting so big and are just as nice inside as they are beautiful outside. My daughter had a wonderful time this year with them. Happy New Year everyone! There was no snow this year and the lake was not frozen for skating. A gorgeous tree set the theme for a happy day. I hope that they realize that Jesus is the reason for the season.

Valentines day is right around the corner, these would make fantastic card kits to sell at a fair.

No place like Gnome by Janice McFarlane

I thought I would like to share another hobby of mine which is crochet. I was taught to knot and crochet by my grandmother at a very young age, although I dont really knit at all now, as I am an accomplished hooker so to speak. It is what I do on an evening, Ive made clothes, throws, cushion covers and other home décor items, beautiful period costumes for Barbie sized dolls, and various toys. I never get tired of it, and last year I taught my self Tunisian Crochet, which I suppose is a bit like knitting but with a special long crochet hook instead of two needles. I love making various toys, and because I love the Scandinavian gnomes that tend to come out at Christmas, so I thought I would make my own version, in the colours that compliment my home. They are quite large and although I hade a basic pattern for a body and hat for a small male gnome, but I wanted it look as though it was sitting with legs dangling over the edge. I also wanted to do a lady gnome version too. So I adapted it to a much larger version, adding legs, boots, coat, hair etc. I was rather pleased with the finished Gnomes, and now I am being asked to make some for others, which is a lovely compliment.

I love getting presents from my grandchildren. Coming from a family of crafting and artistic parents, Gwen is following in her moms footstep. Shes encouraged to express herself in many forms of crafts. This Christmas I received a canvas painting which I proudly hung in my dining room. The colors are perfect and pop out with the addition of the plants.

Busy Christmas! by Sue Way

We had a very busy Christmas here including a visit to my son & daughter in law in London. We had a lovely day with them, starting with a pub lunch, then a walk through the Christmas market along the Thames. Sampling some delicious food. Then we walked over Tower Bridge and got cabs back to theirs for a nice cup of tea and to give out our presents. I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very happy and peaceful new year! ... But Happy! Brrrr ... weve had some icy blasts and lots of rain over the festive season and our Cuddle and Giggle day out with our youngest grandchildren was no different. At their request we headed to one of their favourite parks. The eastern sea board of Australia is still in the grips of the worst fire season ever. Saturday is forecast to be horrendous and the biggest evacuation of people seen in Australia is happening today and tomorrow.(Thurs and Fri). Just in NSW alone there have been 1298 homes lost, 442 homes damaged, 8790 homes saved.85 Facilities destroyed, 89 facilities damaged, 724 facilities saved. 2218 outbuildings destroyed,937 outbuildings damaged, 7401 outbuildings saved. And those figures will rise as to lost and damaged as there are areas still not checked and more to come. There has been 3 firefighters that have died, and several crews lucky to be alive. Over 4 million hectares of land have been burnt so far. (Area size of Belgium)Sadly there has been at least 15 people that have died. In Victoria there is 1 confirmed death and 17 people are still missing. Over 4000 people had to seek refuge on a beach as there was no other way out and the Navy is now evacuating those people by ship and air. There has been over 50 homes lost in Malacoota alone. I dont have exact figures on the fires overall but the statistics will be high. There has been whole towns wiped from the map. Everything is gone. Once good story is the staff at the Mogo Zoo stayed to defend the Zoo from the ember attack and spot fires and main fire front and they saved everything. All the animals are fine but the town of Mogo is nothing more than ashes. There is no end to the record breaking temperatures or these fires stopping. Not the start to the New Year that many Aussies want or need. We need rain and more rain at the moment.

Firstly HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL.. Especially to my new followers.Yes I have a new camera to go with my Canon 7Dmk11.. I have wanted to try Nikon for quite sometime now so decided just before the new year to go get one,The photo is my first with the new camera I am very happy indeed with the results so far. It is a little more confusing that the other I own but does more and has more gadgets on it. I now have a lot of work to do with learning this one as its a bit more complicated but it will come.. Downtown Las Vegas Viva Vision Screen

We went to downtown Las Vegas a few times last week because our Son was performing on one of the outdoor stages on Fremont Street. The Viva Vision screen is 1,375 feet long, 90 feet wide and suspended 90 feet above Fremont Streets renowned pedestrian mall, which is lined by casinos and hotels. There is also a Zip Line beneath the screen which shows in my photograph.It is the largest video screen in the world, and recently got a $32 million upgrade! The renovated screen has 16.4 million brilliant pixels. The screen runs psychedelic patterns in a beautiful array of colours 24/7 and is forever changing! My photograph obviously only shows part of it but doesnt really do it justice! Definitely a GO SEE if you are ever in Las Vegas!
