Looking Back to Christmas at Beauvale by Janice McFarlane

I was looking at some photos from about 3 years ago, back in the days when I had a craft room and could actually make things. Sadly I cant do this now as we live in a retirement bungalow and there just isnt room, but it means I can design more. My friend who helped me, persuaded me to have a table (or two or three) at Beauvale Priory Christmas Fair, which is quite near to me thank fully. It is quite a big fair with most stalls being in the barn. I remember we had to be there for 8 am to set up for 10 am, and believe you me it took my friend, husband and me all of that time to set up. Looking back at the photos I dont know how we manage to make all the things we had for sale. Back then I didnt just design make cards and 3D Projects, I crocheted (which I still do), did decorative painting, sewed etc. My friend helped where she could, I remember how customers commented on how festive our stall looked with mini led trees to display things. That year I also made up the 3 tier Frozen inspired Ice Castle attached led lights and filled the boxes with goodies to raffle off. It was a long cold day, but so worth it. Do I miss doing all of that? Yes and no, with some health issues now, I am quite content to continue to design the kits, and see the fruits of the kits made up from my lovely customers.

Snow for Thanksgiving by Judith Henry

No snow today but we do have a white thanksgiving. Love seeing our family enjoying the holiday. With all the card designing this week cleanup was a challenge. Hope we can get back in the yard to get our Christmas decorations up. Happy thanksgiving to all our USA customers. May your family be with you, good food to enjoy and and a warm day to stand in line for Black Friday.

New in the shop.

A little bit of colour by Vicki Avcin

Well its been months now since we have had a decent bit of rain and the paddocks have brown crunchy grass and its been a struggle to just keep plants alive. Although we are on town water (for the house) we have been trying to keep the grass around the house green (to minimise the chances of spot fires should there be a fire in the bushland around us) and giving the plants a bit of a soak a couple of times a week from water in our water tanks. We have to do it sparingly because there has been no rain to top up the tanks and there is no rain forecast well into December. So it was wonderful to see some orchids and gerbera flowers last week. Just added a little colour to what is otherwise a very sad yard and garden. Of course the dryness here is nothing to what our poor farmers are going through at the moment with many, not only affected by one of the worst droughts theyve had, but in some parts bushfires have wiped out not only their last little bit of albeit dead grass but their homes and machinery and sheds as well. But our little bit of colour is appreciated gratefully at the moment.
