Mellow Autumn by Janyce Cotterill

There is something about Autumn in the UK which slows us down after the frenetic, busy hot days of summer. Although Im not keen on the darker nights, Autumn offers us such a mellow colour pallette as we go about her days. Watching the trees change from green to russets, brown and red hues, the birds seeking out the berry fruits which are offered in abundance in hedgerows, while the paths are littered with glorious crunchy colourful leaves. Who doesnt like to hear the scrunch of them under their boots? I managed to get out briefly, to take a few photos, when the autumnal days offered me some bright sunshine breaking through the trees, and took these photos of our ever changing seasons. What beauty our Earth offers, if we just take time to stop and look for a while. Im leaving you with one of my autumnal designs, perfect for this time of year, and, for those busy making cards for the next season, my latest festive offering. Thank you for your interest and enjoy the season you are in, wherever you are in the world.

Purple Streets by Vicki Avcin

Its October and that means its Jacaranda time. A beautiful time of the year when beautiful purple flowers cover yards, footpaths and roads and the city becomes a sea of purple. There is a saying that when the Jacaranda trees start blooming it is exam time. This is due to the fact that end of year exams always take place in October.Jacarandas arent native to Australia, (they are a native of Brazil) but they grow well here. Grafton has a festival each year, Jacaranda Festival, but Brisbane also welcomes and celebrates them as they are plentiful and they do make for a very pretty time of year. Best known places in Brisbane are New Farm Park, Botanic Gardens, The Qld University and along the banks of the Brisbane River. In Bulimba you can drive down roads that are a carpet of purple. Always love this time of year…….. even in Hervey Bay more and more are being seen so maybe well have our own purple roads in the future.

Promo today are two of my new topper sheets with a 3D dimensional look. Each sheet has 2 toppers, sentiment tags and a piece of decoupage.

OH SO BEAUTIFUL by Wanda Lipski

When my brother came over he brought with him something my Mum couldnt pop in the post ... this beautiful patchwork quilt. It is hand-sewn but she apologises that her stitches are not as regular as they used to be. She is feeling proud that she completed it in just under a year, just in time for my birthday. Mum is 82 so all stitching irregularities are 100% forgiven. My fellow designers love showing off their adorable grandchildren ... I just wanted to share with you all my clever Mum !!! Have a good week while I enjoy my quilt.

Santa ..... by Carol Clarke

Clause is coming to Town! Its frightening isnt it but Santa is going to be heading down a chimney near you in just a few weeks! But while we are panicking getting cards made, presents purchased and wrapped, food ordered and prepared etc its nice to see it through the eyes of a child .... and these two are such a delight! Mind you their lists for Santa are longer than my arm and seem to change daily depending on the latest TV ad. But their excitement is infectious and so lovely to see! Below are 2 of my newest Sleeps till Santa cards. Just turn the interactive wheel one a day and come and down the days .... a great way to help share that excitement with the young or young at heart!

Felix the Wonderful Cat by Janice McFarlane

Over the many years I have been married, we have had quite a menagerie of pets, mainly cats and dogs. At one point we were helping the Cats Protection League by taking in stray cats for them, but most of our cats over the years had been acquired by us. Weve had all shapes, sizes, colours, long and short haired. Felix we got as a kitten and as the children were young they called him Felix after the cat on TV. Felix was quite a placid cat (although he doesnt look like it in this picture) and had a great personality. He was one of those cats who sat on us in a morning while laid in bed gently pawing at our faces telling us to get up because he wanted feeding. He was an outdoor cat, and became known to a lot of our neighbours who also showed him a lot of affection. For being a moggy he was adorable and greatly loved. Felix went over the Rainbow Bridge a couple of years ago at the ripe old age of 21 in human years but 147 in cat years. He is stilled greatly love and missed.

Brussels Sprout Harvest by Judith Henry

Last Spring we planted 8 Brussels sprout plants just for the fun of it. We love these little cabbage like veggies and thought wouldnt it be fun to plant and watch grow. Well, just like each card I make I learn something new to improve for the next season. Our garden is in too much shade so the plants grew small and the sprouts were little. The temperature has been below freezing so we pulled out the garden and had a meal.
