Out 60th Diamond Wedding Anniversary

by Hilda Mullinger

Its been a busy couple of weeks recently. On the 14th September I had a cataract operation, so unable to design for 10 days. On the 19th September my husband Cliff and I celebrated our 60th Diamond Wedding Anniversary with a lovely meal with our family and a overnight stay in a local hotel, which was very nice. I thought you might like to see our Congratulations card from the Queen. She (well her staff) sends out cards for those married 60 years or for a 100 years birthday, in the UK only, if notified 6 weeks in advance. And Yes, for those who might be wondering did I get my celebration diamonds, yes, a beautiful diamond ring from my husband. Here are a few of my recent quick designs.

Both card printed onto Crafty Bob matte photo paper , decoupage cut out, and set in place with sticky pads.

My other passion by Silvia Griffin

I just have uploaded a few new Iris Folding Patterns but wanted to show you all my other Passion. Crochet. I learned it in Switzerland- very early when I was about 8 years old. This what I call a Hexa-doll. Making 4 Hexagon and fold them just so - they will come out like this. Made this one for a special friend which just became a US citizen. On a other note - I will be gone for a while since I have the fortune to go on a 24 day Cruise from Los Angeles to Singapore. We where so lucky to find this cruise for as the say a song :) Thank you for buying my creations Silvia Griffin

Base Commander by Tina Fitch

Well I went to RAF Lakenheath Wednesday for the 48hr Rediness Excercise.. and what a performance they gave! 28 launches one after the other so they could practice refueling over the North Sea.The photo this week was the Base Commanders F15E jet and I caught him nicely coming into land right into the sun...His Jet shone so brightly looked as if it had been highly polished . I doubt it was but it certainly looked like it..Just to let you know I am now adding my photos to card designs as I know there is many Aviation Enthusiasts out there with not much to choose from, But you will know now the card will be unique and you wont find the photo anywhere else for sale.. I have highlighted the first one below this week..

The Legends in Concert Show, Las Vegas

by Sandie Burchell

My Son, Steve, was playing Lead Guitar in the popular Legends in Concert Show at The Tropicana in Las Vegas last weekend so we went to see him. The photo is with Freddie Mercury of Queen and Steve is the one dressed in black with the Guitar at the back. The Show has been going for about 35 years but this was the first time we had seen it. We really enjoyed it! It was a great show!

I have lots of Pretty Handbag Mini Kits on the website this week and here are a couple of them. All on Special Offer this week. Thank you for looking! x

Open Day by Vicki Avcin

On Saturday 28th September our station opened up its doors to the community to give them a chance to come and look around the station and vehicles, ask questions and most importantly to find out how to make sure their properties are prepared in the event there was a fire in the area. It has taken me months as the coordinator to make it happen successfully including getting the Bushfire Simulator Trailer, advertising and catering. Then because we currently have Fire Bans, I had to apply for an exemption to be able to do the Bushfire Simulation Demonstration. The idea of the Bushfire Simulator demo is to show different properties and how a bushfire would impact and behave. We had houses that were cleared, houses that had bush right up close around them, flat ground and uphill and downhill slopes and spoke to people and let them see how being prepared could save their properties. We had a fantastic response to the demonstration with people saying that theyd learnt a lot from it. We let people try on our PPC (personal protective clothing) and the kids loved climbing through the trucks and pressing the magic button which set off the sirens. We had an area set up where (mainly) kids got to get on the end of a hose and try and knock a tennis ball off a traffic cone. Even the big kids (adults) found it challenging. It was a great day and now the planning begins for next years open day.

Brotherly Love by Janice McFarlane

Like all siblings, my two grandsons have their moments. Usually Alfie gets frustrated with his younger brother Harry and vice versa. The two of them are chalk and cheese, and Harry has a very strong will. But in all of their rivalry, they are brothers and Alfie is very protective of Harry. As Ive mentioned numerous times before, Alfie plays ice hockey for Oxford Junior Stars, and Harry along with mum and dad is always there to support him. Harry is Alfies number one fan, and loves to watch him play, although Harrys introduction to the ice wasnt very successful so perhaps he may not follow in his big brothers ice skates. When all is said and done the bond between them is unbreakable, which is lovely to see when on the odd occasion they call a truce and display that wonderful brotherly love.

Sleepover! by Sue Way

Last weekend our granddaughters Jessica and Imogen stayed for a sleepover. Billy, our Golden Retriever, loves it when they stay and follows them everywhere. We had a lovely day, with chips for dinner then a walk up to the little park along the prom. Then they made us watch Strictly Come Dancing while eating their popcorn lol In the morning grandad made them a special breakfast of cheesy omelette and croissants and they ate every bit! Here are a couple of my best selling 1950s designs. http://www.craftsuprint.com/sue-way/?r=968387
