The ... by Carol Clarke

... Lonely Flowers! I got the biggest surprise this morning when out on my daily walk to find these lovely flowers in the local park I thought they were memorial flowers and it wasnt till I read the card and found they said this - The lonely Flowers. Adopt me, please. Im all alone and looking for a new home ... Perhaps I can come home with you or a loved one? Please take me. Our flower friends would love to hear from us and find out where we ended up. Please let them know. - What a lovely thoughtful thing to do, they sent me on my way with a smile on my face despite the pouring rain! lol Below are 2 of my newest floral designs ... Watch out for more ... Coming soon! lol

Games Rewards by Vicki Avcin

Last week in my news I wrote about the Cadet Games. This is a follow on from the fabulous weekend. We woke to a very chilly winters morning on the Saturday, with the cadets getting up early and cooking breakfast for all the teams that were camping out at the venue. Then it was into preparing and last minute practice for the start of the games at 9am. First up was the parade welcoming teams and the order to Let the Games begin. As I said last week the teams worked hard and competed all Saturday with presentations at the end of the day. Sunday morning we woke to an even chillier morning mainly due to the cold wind blowing. The bus was loaded, farewells done and off we go home. The team had been told that if they did well, there might be a surprise on the way home. So instead of heading directly home, there was a detour to Mooloolaba on the Sunshine Coast. Pulling up in the carpark at the Coast Guard, the cadets looked forward to hearing from the crew there. They were shown around, including the garden with the memorial wall for those who have died at sea. This garden is also where a lot of services for mariners from all types of boats/ships are held before their ashes being taken out and scattered at sea. Then down to the boats. They got to go on board and have a look around while the skipper explained what duties the boat serves and where they go. The bigger boat can go a fair way out and often has medi vacs off passenger liners and cargo ships off the coast. They didnt get to go out as the cold wind blowing wouldnt have made for a pleasant trip. And by cold I mean really cold. I cannot remember my full body shivering like it did in many many years. Then it was time to hit the road and head home.

More Wedding activity books and activity placemats added during the week. There are also books for same sex weddings added now too.

A Peeping House Martin Chick... by Clare Walker

This week, I thought you might like to see some more (very cute) wildlife from our Devon trip. Specifically this little chick, who was peeping out of the mud-built house martin nest, under the eaves of a country pub. but we both loved it.The chick is in the top left-hand corner of the photo).Has this little guy flown the nest by now? Hubbie and I both hope so. And we would go back to check, but a 400-mile round-trip would be a long way to go to find out. Maybe we`ll look in on the same place next year. Who knows, this little chick may have built his own cosy nest under the same eaves by then.

In other bird news, please check out the special offer on many of my bird-themed cards, like these ones. Thanks for looking!

Moving Day by Judy Potts

These past couple of weeks have been extremely busy for me. Ive been packing, moving, and unpacking. I havent really gotten a chance to sit down and make very many new cards. Its such a horrible time of year to move with it being so hot and humid. Once I moved into my new place on the 15th I started unpacking right away and was done by the morning of the 17th which was good because my neighbor smokes and Im allergic to it so I was very ill and felt like I couldnt catch my breath. My rental was supposed to be a non-smoking unit which is why I looked at it to begin with but they neglected to tell me that its a house with 3 units in it and that 1 of the neighbors smokes. And I dont mean cigarettes. I didnt want to be to much of a bother when Im just moving in. But Im hoping he stops smoking in the house now that he knows Im allergic. Here are a couple of designs Ive done up real quick. The thank-you card is quite lovely I made it for the church that helped me and the paw patrol I think will be my next series.

My Favourite Views by Janyce Cotterill

My favourite views from last month, at one of my favourite places. The peak holiday season is upon us. I hope you are all having a wonderful time, wherever you are in the world. I would love to know where you went on your holiday, or even photos of where you live, or even flowers in your garden, your pets....the list is endless. Why not put a few pics together and put a few words in the mailer? Its easy to do and you can showcase your cards too, it doesnt have to be designers who do it all.Im leaving you with one of my latest designs, another three in the this selection coming along soon...and one of my older tri-fold mini kits. Thank you for your interest.

All Creatures Great and Small by Janice McFarlane

We really have had a mixed bag of weather fronts over the last week. With the heat being so intense and our bungalow being so well insulated, at times the heat is unbearable. Apart from having multiple fans whirring round, and buying an air cooler and cooling towels, weve also thrown open all windows, doors (front and back). Into the late evening we closed the front door but kept the patio doors open. Doing this, each night we have had an unbelievable menagerie of winged creatures merging around the lights (much to our cats delight of chasing them). One I noticed on my wardrobe door I had never seen before. It is small and very delicate. It is pure white, with a long body, but the wings are fluffy feathery strands. The picture really doesnt do it justice, but it was beautiful. Ive looked on line and cannot find anything that resembles it, so I have no idea what it is.

Keeping cool in the heatwave by Sue Way

Well, Billy knows the best way to keep cool in the hot temperatures we have been having in the UK this week. We always go to the beach as its so near to us. In the winter it can be cold and windy, but this week it has been a welcome relief from the heat. I try to go out early, so there is a bit of a cool breeze. Billy always runs straight into the sea. He doesnt swim yet, but kind of bounces like a kangeroo lol We usually meet the same people every day so Billy has a play with the other dogs and I have a little chat. But I managed to get this lovely picture of Billy running into the sea when we had the whole beach to ourselves. The sea was so calm, perfect! Here are a couple of my latest designs perfect for knitting and crochet lovers at Christmas. Thanks for looking x Sue xhttp://www.craftsuprint.com/sue-way/?r=968387
