Fallout by Vicki Avcin

It was our grandson, Nathaniel birthday last week and his step mum made this cake for him. Chiquita has been doing cake decorating for about a year now and started off self teaching, but is now doing a cake icing course to learn the finer points of icing cakes. His cake this year is a Fallout New Vegas (Playstation role play game) themed cake. Everything on it is edible. The cake is a 6inch cherry ripe mud cake with vanilla and chocolate butter cream. The toppers are handcrafted from fondant and the image is an edible image from Ilmondo. What a fantastic cake and Nathaniel loved it.

My promoted items this week is my new upload Mix-N-Match Floral Mega Bumper Kit (read description in the store) and one of my latest designs Dog Pop Up Layer Card. Check out the Cat one too.

New Beginnings by Janice McFarlane

I belong to a village church situated in Jacksdale, Nottinghamshire. When my husband and I first went there, there was only about 18 church members but we liked it. 18 months ago a new church opened up in Selston , a neighbouring village. This church met in their Parish Hall and came and introduced themselves to us. A young Pastor and Elder we had them come and speak at some of our meetings as for a number of years we were without a Pastor, but we had two Elders who were keeping the church running. We got to know these to well and some of their congregation as we met for fellowship etc. To cut a long story short, it seemed a natural progression that our two churches merge. They would have a much needed building for their ever growing congregation, and we would become part of a larger spiritual family. No better time to do this was on Easter Sunday - Resurrection Morning. The birth of new beginnings. As previously our church was known as Centrepoint Community Church, which to be honest none of us really liked, so a name change was decided and new signs and notice boards were put up. We are now known as Jacksdale and Selston Community Church. It has been such a blessing to become part of this family and I am looking forward to the future.

Connect Four! by Sue Way

On Sunday we looked after our granddaughters Jessica & Imogen. While grandad helped Jess with her maths for her SATS exams, I played connect four with 8-year-old Immy. I bought this little set for £1 so wasnt sure if it would be any good. But we slotted it together and it worked fine. Imogen was off like a rocket trying to beat me, so I told her to slow down and look, as she not only has to get 4 in a row, but she also had to block me. She soon got the hang of it and went on to beat the whole family! In the picture, the cheeky monkey is trying to remove my winning counter! Here are a few of my latest mini kits, thanks for looking x Sue x http://www.craftsuprint.com/sue-way/?r=968387

Crazy clematis by Carol Dunne

The tree you can see in the photo looks like a blossom tree. nothing could be further from the truth. Underneath all the foliage and flowers is a dead tree. It was cut back a couple of years ago and then the ivy took over, which is all the greenery. Then about 18 months ago we planted two clematis montana, a white one and a pale pink one. They have both shot right up to the top of the tree, I cant believe how fast it has grown. If you come into our road you really would think that it is a huge blossom tree. I am so pleased with how it looks.

Ethel M Chocolates Factory and Cactus Garden by Sandie Burchell

I went to the Ethel M Chocolates Factory and Cactus Garden recently. The last time I went was last Christmas when they had all the Christmas Lights in the Garden. It looked quite different in the daylight but I did get to see them making the Chocolates this time in the Factory. The photograph is of the Cactus Garden, there were a few of them in flower but not very many, I will have to make another visit soon.

These are 2 of my latest Panel Pop-Up 3D Card Kits. If you havent viewed my video tutorial yet, please take a look, you will be surprised at just how easy these are to make! They are on Special Offer too! Thank you for looking! x

Walking Anniversary by Carol Clarke

Four years ago today it was such a lovely morning that I decided to go for an early morning walk. Little did I know but this was to be the start of a daily routine! I had soooo enjoyed my walk that I repeated it the next day .... and the day after that ... and soon it became a NORMAL part of my morning routine to pop on my walking boots and head off into the great outdoors! lol I am extremely lucky to live in an area where I can step out of my front door and within a few minutes be walking down country lanes, across fields and through wood etc I have had many magical moments during these walks, close encounters with deer, hares, leverets, pheasants, buzzards etc etc etc. I daily see and interact with horses, cows, black sheep, white sheep, people and dogs etc. In this time I have worn out 2 pairs of walking boots and 1 pair of walking trainers and WOW Ive also managed to walk over 4500 miles!! These are some of the photos Ive taken on my walks .... I will, of course, be walking again tomorrow, and the day after tomorrow etc etc etc! lol Below are 2 of my NEW Floral Gift Box Cards .... A lovely way to give a gift and a card all in one!!

been a while by Sharon Vieira

It has been a while since I have submitted anything to the community news . So much has been happening! I had taken a break from CUP in the winter but cam back and really feel so good about my work I feel like I am improving and my resources and card designs are getting better . I really am taking pride in making them and seeing them in such amazing designs ! Thank you to everyone who has supported me ! I also have been working on some metal stamped jewelry which I love making. I am now moving into the direction of affirmation and reminder jewelry as I feel its really nice to have them on to help us remind ourselves of things like staying strong or loving ourselves ( something I work on daily) sometimes we (especially me ) can be hard on ourselves and so when I have those tough days I like to wear extra affirmation pieces and then I can look at them and just try to change my though pattern. So hopefully My pieces can help others. I want to thank everyone who has used my resources or made cards with my work . I try to keep up and hug and comment on everyones posts but sometimes I dont get a chance and fall behind ! I love every single card and design ! they are all absolutely stunning and am so grateful . A big Thank you from my heart . Sharon

An Afternoon With Azaleas by Clare Walker

It`s that time of year again...Hubby and I spent a beautiful afternoon amongst the blooming azaleas and rhododendrons at Kenwood House in Hampstead. Bright pinks, purples, oranges, whites and reds, all trained into shubberies, arches and secret, whimsical paths. The weather may have got strangely cold and wet this week, but the silver lining is that these wonderful flowers are (apparently) at their very best in drizzly conditions that mimic misty mountainsides... and give everyone a visual treat.

Our Pilots by Tina Fitch

Yeah.. Here we have our pilots that amused us on the 26th April on our special base visit to RAF Lakenheath! I cant thank them enough for the superb hospitality they shared with us that day and how close we got to some amazing aircraft. Some were on their way to launch just passed where we stood to take this shot, so we felt the heat from them engines and if we had been standing behind them they would have blown us over I am sure.I wont name the pilots as that would be fair but one of them just gained his flying wings and this was his first flight.. well returned flight should I say... On taking it I couldnt help but think of the Top Gun scene LOLThats all from me this week.. Lots of new designs added and as always in all formats

Birthday Card Exchange by Judith Henry

I belong to a birthday card exchange through Facebook. It is a lot of fun. I have 11 cards to go this month to over 5 different countries. The best part was getting cards on my birthday. We have lost our traditions of sending cards for special occasions. Most of the time I only send on births, anniversaries and Sympathy. Im going to try to be better at sending. The photo is pictures of the cards I received. They certainly put a smile on my face everyday in April.
