Fun morning out by Joan King

My grand daughter who is three and a half years old asked me if I would come to Grandma day at her playschool. Well of course I was happy to go as I hadnt been there before. Of course the playschool are so PC they called it Special Person Day hmmm. There were about 60-80 people there it was huge. She took me all around the place showed me every nook and cranny and then they all did several dances and sang for the grand parents. Following that they had morning tea and so did we followed by the children doing an Easter Egg hunt. They were all told only to look for one egg so that everyone had a chance to get one. Later in the day I noticed 2 eggs in her school bag....... when it comes to chocolate I dont think there is any stopping her. Here is a photo of her with a face painted like a cat and one of the eggs she found. Here are two different style of cards.

EASTER FUNDAY by Janice McFarlane

On Easter Sunday my daughter, took Alfie, Harry and their cousin Jacob on the train to York. They were going on a magical Easter Egg Hunt, at a chocolate factory in the centre of York (where else would you want to be looking for chocolate eggs lol). Once there, they met two very unusual Easter Bunnies who were going to guide them and other children on their quest to find the goodies. They were given a very large goodie bag and off they went. I dont think Harry really knew what to make of it only being 23 months, I think he was a bit overwhelmed, but realising there was chocolate on the go soon changed his mind. They all got involved in a little egg and spoon race too. Even after filling their goodie bags once they had completed the hunt they were all given a lovely chocolate egg.

Two of my latest popup card kits, Sweet Baby Boy kit is also available.

The Tourists Are Coming! by Janice Shehan

I am blessed to live in an area in Florida, USA, where there are a lot of places for fun and swimming. The beaches are open and plenty of families are enjoying the fun in the sun already. The sunshine is warm, the boats are being launched and best of all the beaches are beautiful and the water is warming up. Most people have already begun to swim in their pools and to get a head start on their tans. Its nice to smell the aromas from the BBQ grills and hear the children laughing as they play outside. No wonder they call this the sunshine state!

A few new items for this week, I hope you like them.

Busy Billy! by Sue Way

We have had lovely weather over the Easter break, so Billy got to go on his first adventure to a couple of country parks near us. Even though we were worried about him with all the open space, he stayed with us and had a great time finding new things to sniff. When hubby went back to work I took Billy on our usual walk on the beach, but we met up with some other dog walkers and a big Dogue de Bordeaux who is the same age as Billy. I am usually wary of dogs like that, but he is a gentle giant and he and Billy became best buddies straight away. Billy was so tired when we got home that he didnt even have the energy to come in for a drink, bless him. This week I have started a new series of Fashion Reflection Mini Kits. http://www.craftsuprint.com/sue-way/?r=968387

a finish! by Anne Lever

After four years, I have finally finished my latest cross stitch project. It measures approx 18 across and 12 down and has 25 stitches per inch. It has been a labour of love, I have enjoyed every stitch, and will miss stitching on it very much. The picture is called The magic grotto and the artist is Aimee Stewart.

Fox Cubs by Tina Fitch

Well I went out in the garden yesterday to have my morning coffee, I could hear the rustling of the leaves behind me so I turned slowly and just caught 3 little fox cubs playing on the bank at the bottom of my garden,You could hear them having a lovely time. they seem to be talking to each other whilst rolling on the mud bank.. Mum came to supervise for a while but soon got fed up and walked off, They played for at least an hour and didnt take any notice really of my and Dolly my dog looking at them.In fact one little one tried to get over my back fence, I just saw a small head and two little paws hanging on for dear life hahahahThey soon got fed up though and off they trotted to find mum..https://www.craftsuprint.com/tina-fitch/

Tahh Dahh!! by Carol Clarke

Well werent we lucky with the weather over the Easter Bank Holiday here in England!! Beautiful blue skies and wall to wall sunshine too. We took advantage of this and took 2 of our grandchildren on a lovely day out to Hardwick Hall in Derbyshire. After a lovely picnic in the courtyard and making bunny noses (dont ask! but suffice to say it included lots of lovely gooey glue! lol) at the crafty corner we went on a bug hunt! Sooo we headed off into the woods and surrounding farmland finding and identifying many bugs and insects. Last off we went to the woodland play area and they burnt off any remaining energy there. Four year old Austin made a tower from the wooden play pieces and was so proud of it he wanted this photo taking ... I asked him to smile but he struck a pose and said Tahh Dahh! lol Below are 2 of my new Cute Alien Diagonal Rubber Band Pop Up Boxes ... They are really easy to make and such fun for the recipients when they pop up straight out of the envelope! lol

My Gorgeous Miss Kitty by Vicki Avcin

Just a couple of months ago we were celebrating our old girls 22nd Birthday. Just two months later she crossed over the Rainbow Bridge. Every year for the past few years weve been saying, will she make it to the next birthday and sadly this year, no, she wont make the next one. I originally purchased her for my daughter for her 9th Birthday so as hubby pointed out, shes been a part of my life for two thirds of it roughly. I kind of inherited Miss Kitty when my daughter finished school and moved out when she was working. So saying goodbye is heart ache and gut wrenching. It was so hard to say goodbye and Id made the decision many years ago that whenever the time came, she would be cremated and come home to be with me forever. I was her carer in the last few weeks as she slowly went downhill and its left a huge gap in my days not picking her up and taking her out to toilet, bring her water bowl to her, give her lots of extra treats and keeping her brushed and cuddles of course. She is now home in her gold urn, and will sit on the writing desk in the bedroom along with Bubby Munchkin……..the first things I see in the morning and the last things I see at night. Kitty is the last furbaby we will have (although we are still babysitting the granddaughters kitty), as weve been tied to the house to feed and care for the kitties (Ive had cats all my life), and this will give us more freedom to up and go to visit grandkids and travel. They all now live in our hearts and wonderful memories and hopefully when our time comes we will get to have those cuddles and hear those meows again one day. Love you Miss Kitty.

Like a Holiday in the Med... by Clare Walker

So it finally happened. Someone forgot to tell the weather it was Easter Bank holiday-and strolling round an -almost-empty-because-everyone-went-to-the-coast London was like the best four days in the Med...without the hassle of flying or travel. These tulips in Holland Park were just a tiny part of that...there were multiple beds, and they were so stunning I almost cried with joy at the glorious colours. A Bank Holiday well spent...Hope you were able to enjoy it too.

Blooms at Bodnant by Carol Dunne

Where I live looked beautiful at the beginning of last week, all the magnolia trees where out. They were spectacular. We are members of the National Trust and quite often go to Bodnant Gardens in North Wales so we thought we would go up there to see the magnolias which are normally fantastic. We got more than we bargained for in the nicest way. Not only were the magnolias out but The daffodils were still in flower. Not only that, a lot of the azaelias were also open ( unlike the ones in our garden ), so we had a real treat to see them all open together. We had a lovely day out.

Popup card inspirations by Judith Henry

Popup cards are the latest craze in greeting cards. Even hallmark is producing them. I made my first one for sale in 2015 and have been learning new designs ever since. I have been asked what got me started and how I learned the craft? Its my two inquisitive granddaughter and a supportive husband. The girls love popup books and I started collecting them when the were babies. Now my six year old wants to make cards with me.This summer I wanted to find an opportunity to learn from one of the paper architects. And I found a two week emersion program in Italy but unfortunately it was at a time when it was impossible for me to attend. My hubby said, take the tuition and buy some more books to take apart to learn. I cant take them apart but I can examine and learn. My first purchase of 4 books arrived so Im sharing with you. Im hooping to learn more advance techniques and produce some award winning designs... hopefully!
