Looking for Spring by Judith Henry

Im beginning to think Spring will never come. So, Im looking at pictures of last years trip to North Carolina and the beautiful weather and spring flowers. Hope this brightens your day. So, now I want to make cards that remind me of flowers, butterflies and Easter. Designing new items to get everyone in the spirit also.

Two cards to get you started on your Spring collection of cards.

Daffodils by Anne Lever

I love spring, and for me one of the first signs of spring is buying bunches of daffodils from my local supermarket. I make sure i always have daffs in my home during their season. I have never bought a bunch of daffs like the ones i bought on Monday. I have had all yellow, and i have had all white, but never a mixed bunch like this. So pretty!

Well here they are my beautiful granddaughters.. after cooking class .They baked chocolate muffins and they were delicious! They do a class nearly every night after school now and this is just one of their past times. Both just cant sit still they have to be busy with something. and what better way to be, At least they will know how to cook which is a very good skill to have. They both love to cook and the school kitchen is big enough for them both to have a go.I am off to Las Vegas this week for Red Flag at Nellis AFB so watch out next week for the military news..Dont forget Mothers Day is nearly here..

Normally at this time of year we have sleet, snow and icy conditions but this year in late February we have been enjoying the sorts of temperatures wed be happy to have in Spring and summer!! We took the opportunity to enjoy the unseasonable weather before it changes back to normal and we went on a lovely walk around Hardwick Hall and Lakes in Derbyshire. I still cant quite believe that we did this walk in shorts and t-shirt and were still too warm! lol Mind you the way that our weather changes Ill probably be posting a photo of snow by this time next week! lol Below are 2 of my NEW Mothers Pop Up Box Cards ... Beautiful Sunset by Janice McFarlane

I love the area where I live, a small village in Nottinghamshire. Sometimes I find it hard to believe I live in such a beautiful area after living in a town in the North East of England the majority of my life. Now I am not saying there arent beautiful places in the North East, but living in a town you dont appreciate them so much. One thing I have noticed living where I do is the amazing sunsets we get. It is so picturesque because of the countryside surrounding us. But even just taking a picture with the sun setting over the rooftops is beautiful and I am blessed to enjoy the beauty of it all.

I tried, I failed, I cheated! by Sue Way

Billy turned 10 months this week and it was time to attempt this months comparison picture. I managed to get his feet off the floor, but couldnt stand up! So I am afraid I had to cheat and put his back legs on the sofa. I think we can safely say he is still growing. In the picture, I have compared him at 10 months to 10 weeks and not only has he grown a LOT but you can really see how much darker he is getting. Billy will see you again next month and I am off to up my weight training lol Here are a couple of my latest mini kits. http://www.craftsuprint.com/sue-way/?r=968387

Black out by Vicki Avcin

The night we managed to black out the entire neighbourhood! The other week when we had all the gale force winds, hubby had walked up to check the mail box when he noticed a big branch over the powerlines at the front of our property. It was strung up over 3 lines but didnt appear to be arcing out. Surprisingly the power didnt go out when it landed. We rang the energy company to report it and they sent a crew out. It was daylight when we saw and reported it but by the time the crew arrived it was dark and as the branch moved with the wind we could see it arcing as it touched a line. Very lucky that it wasnt actually throwing sparks on the ground. If it had it couldve blown them into extremely dry grass and started a fire. When the crew arrived they had to call for the cherry picker as they couldnt get it off live wires with the smaller truck they had. This meant that they had to switch the power off to all of our area to be able to get the picker up and for the crew to be safe. Once the branch was down it was obvious by the burn marks on the branch in several places that we were very lucky there wasnt a fire. The area was blacked out for about 15 mins while they did the work. We can laugh about it now that we shut down a whole suburb but it was better than had a fire started.
