Water Baby! by Sue Way

Being a typical Golden Retriever, Billy absolutely loves water! He likes to splash in the sea. But he is also very interested whenever I have a bath or take a shower. I say he is just testing the water for me. I let him have a little look then send him out as I can imagine him jumping in with me! The other day as I was getting ready to take a shower, Billy was, as usual, very interested so I put my shower hat on his head! He wasnt impressed, but I managed to take this quick picture of him looking so cute in it. http://www.craftsuprint.com/sue-way/?r=968387

Mother Nature is at it again! by Vicki Avcin

The photo below shows our back yard taken 4 weeks apart. A month ago lovely and green and soft lush grass, today, brown crunchy dead grass. While our proverbial dome is sitting over us making sure any showers around dont fall on us, North Queensland has been dealt a deadly blow with the monsoon at the end of January and early February delivering 1443 mm over Townsville (and 2171m in the catchment area) causing major flooding that they are calling a 1 in 500 year rain event! Meanwhile here we had in the same period only 21.4mm rain. The floods up north have seen people lose everything and far wider consequences as the monsoon moved to the west and floodwaters moved down to the cattle properties with stock losses estimated to be in the hundreds of thousands as cattle were swept away and had nowhere to go. Our son, his partner and 2 of our grandchildren were in the area that flooded when the Ross River broke its banks and they had to evacuate. They lost everything underneath the house, including their car which at the time had a flat battery and couldnt be moved. The water rose so quickly he didnt have time to wait for the battery to be charged up and put in the car so they had to leave it in the driveway. It too is a right off. Then the rain stopped finally and a new problem arose, mould. Homes up there are covered in it, to the point that there is even mushrooms growing in carpets in houses. The family is safe though but it is going to be a long recovery for people up there. So Mother Nature is showing her might and leaving everyone wondering what she has in store next.

Another two of my new designs are being promoted today. One a beautiful (and different) wedding design and the other a cute teddy bear design.

Taking A Break by Linda Wright

For Labour Weekend we took a break to the beach. We went to an NZMCA Rally to Tapu. I wanted to take the walker but Tony said there was no point as I wouldnt be able to use it on the beach. Its not all fun and games though as I am the NZMCA Waikato Area Newsletter Editor. I have to be trying to get photos and taking down all the raffle results and the prizes and that was a major issue as we had the Kite Flying competition, Fishing Competition [Tony caught 5 snapper and a Gurnard - Got a nice prize for his efforts too as we are now the proud owners of a foldup table - not your usual cheapy one either], Beach Clean up, Craft afternoon at which I sold the huge sum of two cards. As you can imagine I thought that was pretty tough after all my efforts, but like my friend said it was better than nothing at all. We have another one coming up next weekend and we are going to Te Aroha and Tony and I have put our names down to play croquet with the locals. Should be fun - it looks easy enough to do.

These are two of my latest designs. There is a set of 4 Ovals and a set of 5 Circles. Hope you like them as much as I enjoyed making them.

Harry Van Gough!!! by Janice McFarlane

All kids love to paint and get messy, but I believe my grandson Harry goes above and beyond what is expected. He was recently at a kids club with his older brother Alfie. They were constructing things from carboard boxes etc. Harry decided anything Alfie can do I can do better. In the first picture Harry is giving much thought to his masterpiece and channelling his artistic creativity. Second picture, Harry appears to be well and truly in the zone for his creative piece. Perhaps it might be exhibited in the Tate Modern Gallery. Third photo Harry has now abandoned his modern art to give a complete new meaning of painting a self portrait. Fourth one mummy snapped him at his eureka moment with a big smile. Vincent Van Gough, Pablo Picasso dont have a look in anymore. Make way for Harry Van Gough! What the photos didnt show was my daughter having to bath him in the sink at kids club before they could go home. Ah, the joy of toddlers!

My Designer Sister by Dianne Jackson

My Sister, Cynthia Massey started designing exclusively for cup just under 2 years ago and she has already reached 5,000 sales. Because we used the referral system when she first started she has earned me £45 to spend on Craftsuprint for reaching this target. I really enjoyed my spending spree and I would like to thank Cynthia and Craftsuprint, Because Cynthia is a card maker herself means she knows the importance of having plenty of decoupage in her designs. You never have to print her sheets out twice to get that important decoupage which is a big bonus to card makers as it saves on expensive ink and card, I am showing my favourite 2 designs from her latest range. There is so much decoupage on these roses that once the card is finished it just makes the designs pop. These 2 designs are great for all your girly cards that you send to friends. They are simple and stylish and the roses are easy to cut out and layer.
