Special Christmas Card by Shirley Young

Having just taken down all the Christmas cards I thought I would share this special one sent to us by our neighbour. She is very fond of our two little cats Tommy and Tuppence and made this card for us featuring a photograph of Tommy which I sent her last year. Inside there is also a photo of Tuppence. The kittties are just over 18 months old so the Christmas decorations didnt stand a chance as they found them hard to resist but they are such fun that we hadnt the heart to tell them off.

Having a chat with Nana by Sue Way

I had my mum to stay at Christmas. Billy gets so excited when he meets people that know matter how hard he tries he cant help jumping up them. So we had to be extra strict with him so that he wouldnt knock Nana over. He gradually got the idea and stopped jumping up her every time she walked into a room and he seemed to know that he had to be gentle with her. He learnt how to say hello nicely They were soon best of friends and I got this lovely picture of them having a little chat Now we just need to work on his nice hellos to the rest of the World lol This week I have added a series of Driving Girls to my store. I have included different hair & skin tones to suit every one. http://www.craftsuprint.com/sue-way/?r=968387

START THE YEAR ON A HIGH NOTE - BLESSING THE ORGAN by Wanda Lipski

Did you know that the (catholic) church has an 8 page blessing service for organs? Well you do now because Im telling you with photographic proof that this is the case. My organ was taken to the church in the village and another in the next village to play the midnight mass services (fortunately not both at midnight) this Christmas. Before an instrument can be used for the liturgy it must be blessed. It was a very nice little service, punctuated with music of course, and followed by drinks and nibbles for friends from the church. A rare event (the priest had never before blessed an organ) so something to remember. Only problem with the ceremony ... nowhere do they bless the organist. I wish you all a happy New Year with many blessings, whether you are a designer, the staff at CUP, a crafter or an organ. START THE YEAR ON A HIGH NOTE

Queen of the Night by Vicki Avcin

We have a pot in our garden that my husband got 30 years ago. Each year we eagerly wait for it to flower with most times having maybe 3 flowers on it which have always opened one at a time, so 3 nights, one flower each night. This week we counted 15 buds coming on and were so excited to see so many at once. The other night we had 4 flowers out at once! This morning we had another 4. Problem is one has to be up very early before the sun rises to see these beauties as they only flower at night and as soon as the sun makes an appearance they start to die off. Known as Lady of the Night or Queen of the Night, obviously named because they only flower at night, we think because of the hot humid weather weve been having this old plant has decided to finally show us that she is capable of more than one flower per night. Normally found in hot humid rainforests the plant is common around Veracruz, Mexico, a coastal area that borders the Gulf of Mexico. They are often grown in other places as indoor or greenhouse plants around the world. The flowers have a wonderful fragrance and when they are flowering the fragrance hits you when you open the front door in the morning when they are in flower. Still several more buds to open on our plant yet so we will get a few more nights to look forward to seeing this old girl show us her beauty yet.

This weeks promo items are a lasting keepsake book mark, perfect to slip into a Valentines Day card and a cheeky little vixen card design to give to the love of your life.

Suns Out....Finally by Gillian Hutchinson

Thankfully after some fierce winds and rain the past few days we managed to get out for a walk without the wellies on! Its been baths every day for Mak and Fidget as soon as they come back in. The beach and canals here have been flooded and overflowing really bad. So much so that even some of the beach huts didnt escape the water and the canal looked more like a little lake. So it was nice to see the sun out today for a change.

Chile Vacation by Silvia Griffin

We are in Chile and rented a car. La Serena is the capital of the Coquimbo region on Chiles coast. The city is known for its long beaches, like El Faro with its landmark Faro Monumental lighthouse, and its colonial and neo-colonial architecture. The late-Renaissance Iglesia de San Francisco is one of many churches dominating the skyline. The Archaeological Museum displays pre-Hispanic pottery and a giant stone head (moai) from Easter Island. We have been here for 3 weeks and not rain just grand. Hopping all are well and a belated Happy New Year

Holiday in Northland, New Zealand by Joan King

Its that time of the year in New Zealand the height of summer and hot hot temperatures, in fact currently much hotter than we would normally expect at this time of the year so goodness knows what the hottest month will be like (February). My family spent a week up north with relatives and she said it was 30 degrees virtually every day and of course much of the time was spent on the beach and in the water. I wish I could have been there with them, the beaches are stunning up there and not so many people around. This is a photograph of my youngest grandaughter Brooklyn who has just passed 3 years old.
