Doc Martin Lives Here! by Janyce Cotterill

Ive never really watched the Doc Martin series on TV, which is set in fictional Portwenn, Cornwall, proper name of course, Port Isaac. Ive seen snipits of it and Ive listened to actor Martin Clunes (Doc Martin) wax lyrical about how beautiful the place is and how lucky he is to work there whilst filming the series. However last month we had a short break in Cornwall and on the itinerary was a trip to, yes, Port Isaac. It didnt take me long to see where Doc Martins surgery was. There was floods of tourists climbing the hill to the house! And - I have to say I totally agree with Mr. Clunes, what a stunning little place Port Isaac is. Actually all the places we dropped into on our mini-break were so picturesque. Cornwall - I will be back! Im leaving you with my latest Feline Festive designs. Through the looking glass by Joan King

Recently my grandchildren went to a place only 10 minutes from home and it was called Through the looking Glass It was naturally based on the Alice in Wonderland tales and it was in a forest and open clearing and there were all sorts of creatures from the story. It was a perfect day weather wise and they enjoyed running around amongst everything. Here is a photograph of my 3 kiwi grand children this time having a rest.....

Lest We Forget by Janice McFarlane

Each year we remember those who have fallen in war throughout the decades. This year was special for two reasons, it was the 100th Anniversary of Armistice Day. The end of the Great War in 1918. The second reason was the 100th Anniversary of the R.A.F. Both have special places for us as a family. My husband served 15 years as a Registered Mental Nurse in the R.A.F. dealing with a lot of trauma, as well as the more common mental illnesses such as depression, anxiety etc., of military personnel. This last Sunday he was honoured to lay the wreath on behalf of the small village church we attend, at the cenotaph. After that he joined in the small parade of the veterans representing the R.A.F. he was so proud to be part of.

Hubbys 65th Birthday by Sue Way

Last week it was my hubbys 65th birthday. He didnt want any fuss, so on the day I made him a low carb birthday fruit cake & his favourite meal of curry & cauliflower rice (he is on a low carb diet) I gave him his presents, which included an X-Press craft machine for his hobby of lino cutting. Then our daughter, CUP designer Kelly Barker, sent him an itinerary for the weekend. This included taking him out for breakfast, an hour on the driving range with our son-in-law and then a takeaway and film in the evening. Kelly also made him a Big Birthday Bonanza Box, which was filled with gifts for him to dip into throughout the day. He had a wonderful weekend, which was everything he didnt know he wanted. Ambos meet the Royals by Vicki Avcin

On the recent visit to Hervey Bay, Prince Harry and Meghan requested to meet two of our wonderful ambulance officers specifically. You may remember hearing the story, as it went international, about our ambos who had picked up a patient and was taking her to palliative care, stopping and taking the lady out of the ambulance so that she could see the beautiful beach and views that she so dearly loved. They not only got her out of the ambulance to look at the view, but got a sick bag and went down and got some sand and seawater so that the lady could put her hands in it and feel it one last time. The story went viral, people made up a short videos (which I will point out had vision of somewhere not Australian) with the story. Well it seems Harry and Meghan heard about the story and requested they meet these two wonderful Queensland Ambulance officers. They went to Kingfisher Resort where the meet and greet was going to happen and both met the Royals and presented them one each, a cute little teddy dressed in QAS uniform. It must have been an exciting time for both of our ambos to meet Harry and Meghan but although all our ambos are beautiful compassionate people, these two were most deserving of a little reward for what they did. I think all of our ambos would do the same gestures for any of their patients, but this story has been embraced around the world.

... Artist!! My youngest granddaughter Olivia is still loving painting stones, especially after finding one at Hardwick Hall last week. This week after picking her up from school, and the obligatory visit to the park, she couldnt wait to get started on doing some more. Shes even taking orders from her friends at school who all want one! lol Im amazed at how well shes doing them and I love the pumpkin drawing she did too. Below are 2 of my NEWEST Designs ... 11 NOVEMBER CENTENARY CELEBRATIONS IN LYON by Wanda Lipski

My sweety husbanhas been very busy, literally flying the flag for the British. Asked by the Royal British Legion (he IS a member although he is French but as an ex-serviceman and married to a Brit, the local branch decided long ago that he deserved the recognition) to bear the Union Jack during armistice celebrations. The flag is VERY heavy and for the last two weekends hes been on duty. A moving celebration in Lyon, very well attended by the public and televised, so my Michel is now a star. Hell finish his duties on Saturday in the military cemetary at Mont dOr, site of a British military hospital during WWII. Have a good week and ENJOY a couple of my latest designs ...

Traveling by Judith Henry

Every once in a while I need to step away from designing and get refreshed with a tour of a new county. This time we took a cruise starting in Venice. So many beautiful sites to see always ensues me. I get new ideas from the flowers, landscapes and people we had a great time meeting new people from around the world.

We have been getting some new visitors this week at the back of our garden. A little parade of pheasants have been strutting their stuff back and forth a few times a day. Unfortunately everytime we open the door to get a good look they just run like mad and the dogs dont help as they start to bark which frightened them off even quicker.

The Conservatory & Botanical Gardens at The Bellagio by Sandie Burchell

As promised last week, this is another photo of the new display in The Conservatory & Botanical Gardens at The Bellagio in Las Vegas. The display is changed 5 times a year. I was not disappointed this time, it is stunning is called Falling Asleep, which is inspired by the mythology of the goddess of harvest. My photograph this week shows the Tigers which are covered in seeds. The Conservatory gets 15,000 – 18,000 visitors a day and they have 120 gardeners looking after all the gardens, some of which have to change the dying flowers every day in the display.
