Deer by Gillian Hutchinson

We have a field at the back of our garden and the wildlife we see is amazing. We have a barn owl that swoops past each night, pheasants that walk back and forth along the fence, ducks that waddle past as there is a little pond to the right but the best thing has to be the deer. I really have to get the camera set up so I can get some better pictures.

Armistice Day at School 2018 by Hilda Mullinger

Here are my two youngest Grandchildren Jake 5 and Millie 10. The children were asked to dress in the style of 1918 as any character, and my daughter searched the charity shops to find outfits she could alter for them. I think she did an excellent job. This is a two day event at their school at their school to help the children to understand the meaning of the Armistice.

December 24th, an ideal Christmas card, My Wedding card shows the bride and groom in a beautiful church in Cumbria.

Falling Asleep display at the Conservatory at The Bellagio, Las Vegas by Sandie Burchell

I went to see the new display in the Conservatory at The Bellagio in Las Vegas last weekend. Although I only live 13 miles South of Las Vegas, I rarely go up there! They change the exhibition several times a year and it is always my favourite thing to go and see. As usual, I was not disappointed, it is stunning and this time is called Falling Asleep, which is inspired by the mythology of the goddess of harvest and is made of many natural materials like Hydrangeas, Oak leaves and fall coloured flowers for her dress. They have also brought back the favourite enchanted Talking Tree in this display, which has featured in some past fall exhibitions, and welcomes guests as they walk into the Conservatory! The sleeping goddess in my photograph is 28 feet long and 38 feet tall! The display covers 14,000 square feet, so it is impossible to cover the spectacular exhibition in one photograph, so I will put another photograph showing a different part of the display in the newsletter next week.

The two designs I am showcasing today are my latest Shaped Card Mini Kit, both on Special Offer currently. There is also a similar design available for a Baby Girl! Thank you for looking!

I am not a mouse! by Vicki Avcin

We have a relative and her friend here from Canada for 3 weeks. As the relative had been to Hervey Bay a couple of years ago, she wanted to go back down and spend some time walking along our beautiful esplanade. So off we went, looked in some shops then went across the road to the playground before heading down to the beach. We have playgrounds and exercise equipment at various intervals along the seafront and I spotted something new called the Mouse Wheel. Great, I thought, lets give it a go, cant be that hard to stand in this wheel. All you have to do is get in the middle and walk which in turn would turn the wheel around. Easy hey? Mice do it all the time. Well, I took two steps and off it went. Trying to stay centred but the overwhelming sensation to put my hands out in front of me on the wall in front. Then down I went head first into the wheel, then the shoulder, then onto my knees and Im scrambling like a cat on a hot tin roof to get off the thing while its still spinning away, so I didnt hit the floor once but several times, as it took me up the wall and gravity came into play. Thankfully hubby raced over and managed to stop the spinning. Wasnt very impressed as hubby and his cousin and her friend stood there laughing. At that point I was in a lot of pain and pretty shaken up and couldnt see the funny side of things. Hubby managed to get me on my feet, and self evaluating myself, I figured I was going to be very sore the next day and I had a massive headache and graze to the top of my forehead. Didnt bleed so only skin off. No broken bones. So glad no one was videoing my gallant effort, so yippee no You Tube video. Both hubbys cousin and her friend did have a go but with hubby holding the wheel so it couldnt take off on them. They managed about two steps each and decided it wasnt a good idea. Then I thought about the piece of equipment being in a public place for anyone to useand have now put in a complaint to the Council as I believe it really isnt a safe piece of equipment. There are no warning signs on how to and the gearing is way too loose. I think it should be geared so that if you walk slow then the wheel spins slow and the faster you walk then it will go faster, but not the loose free spin it has now. A young boy about 11 or 12 also gave it a try and he was struggling to stay upright but then couldnt slow it down to get off and he was flung off the side of it. I have a massive egg on my forehead, huge bruise on my shoulder and knees and aching body from where its twisted me in ways Ive not been twisted for many many years. All that adds up to PAIN!! So how do the mice do it……..or is the reason you see them running and running and running flat out because they cant stop their wheels?

Todays cards are two more from my DL Trifold cards. One with beautiful Australian flowers and the other a fabulous Christmas design.

Half Term ... by Carol Clarke

... Fun! We had a fantastic half term day out with Austin and Olivia this week. It was cold but sunny and we headed for Hardwick Hall. I had painted a few small stones for them to hide for the Facebook craze of stone hiding and they loved hiding them all. then we found one someone else had hidden there too! As you can see Olivia was over the moon with her find. I shared it to the Facebook group and amazingly it was a young girl who had hidden it ... and she had found 3 of the stones Olivia had hidden!Below are 2 of my NEWEST Designs ... Watch out for more coming soon!

6 Month Comparison Picture by Sue Way

Well, here it is as promised. The comparison picture of Billy in my arms over the last 3 months. He obviously still thinks he is the size of the first pic the way he is laying there. Look how long his legs are!!!! People are always asking me if he is a puppy, as he is so big! He acts like a puppy, just a BIG on. He still has a lot of growing to do but I am determined to keep doing these pics every month, even if he has to pick me up lol Here are a few of my latest designs. http://www.craftsuprint.com/sue-way/?r=968387

Dropping the Puck by Janice McFarlane

Last Sunday my Son in Law and Grandson Alfie had the honour of being asked to drop the puck at the ice hockey match between Oxford All Stars and Chelmsford. It was a special match because of Remembrance and as they werent playing on the 11th November they did their two minute silence. My son in law was being deployed out to Afghanistan on the 7th, and as he also plays ice hockey and my grandson plays for Oxford under nines they thought it would be fitting to ask them to drop the puck for this special match to start the game. Alfie was thrilled and after the match got a signed photograph of the Oxford team, as well as the puck and a special photograph taken with the team.

GLOBAL WARMING ???? by Wanda Lipski

While great swathes of France are underwater ... literally, .... the rest of us have had an absolutely gorgeous month of October with it still being perfectly possible to eat and read outside without having to don the thermals ... Or rather that was the case until the 30th October when it snowed, 50 cm fell in about 4 hours. Since the treees are still covered with leaves the result was blocked roads and the gardens and countryside devasted as branches broke under the weight of all the snow, trapped in place by the leaves. My photo of the square where we live early in the morning, is no really so spectacular until you remember is was only OCTOBER. Global warming .. I dont buy it, but I do subscribe to Global weather gone mad !!!!. This is my birthday weekend, so Im on designer discount Friday through Monday so that you can all celebrate with me. Have a good week and ENJOY !

Whos in my garden by Carol Dunne

If I have any left over food scraps rather than put them in the bin I throw them out for the birds. Usually I get magpies, wood pigeons, robins, blackbirds, squirrels and if I am really lucky the thrush comes. Imagine my surprise to find this beautiful buzzard sitting there having a feast. I have often seen them circling overhead but I have never seen one this close.
