So Grown Up by Janice McFarlane

My eldest granddaughter Darcey started high school in September and she loves it. Chatting with her via facetime she sounded so grown up for someone who is only eleven. She had just come home from her first high school disco, which was of course Halloween themed, and it was the first time I had spoken to her in a while as she is not local. She chatted about how she was liking her Spanish lessons, and dissecting things in science and giving a speech in her English lessons. She seems to have done so much in a short space of time. In her spare time she dances doing street dance and musical theatre. She also sings in a choir, and loves to draw. She showed me one of her drawing books and she is incredible, I was amazed. She has turned out to be a beautiful young lady, she lost her daddy (my son) seven years ago and he would be so proud of her as I am too. The picture is of Darcey all ready to go for the disco.

Two of my latest Christmas themed cards, which also have co-ordinating kits to match.

Fall leaves by Judith Henry

We have had a lot of wind that have blown most of the leaves off the trees. Our maples have never dropped this early and the colors have not been as spectacular as in past years. However; our drives around the country and state has had some very pretty trees especially the aspens. Our street has bright yellows, some reds and lots of bare trees. Well it is almost November and we need to start getting ready for winter....SHHHHHH

Getting ready for Halloween. Look for a new card to be posted for the week end. Yes it will be one on sale in my shop.

An Urban Fox by Clare Walker

Thought you might like to hear news and see a picture of the newest visitor to the garden below our building: an urban fox. He stayed for about 20 minutes in total, in the middle of the afternoon. And he came so close to the house that we could even hear him sneezing. We suspect that the timing of his visit was no coincidence: the refuse people had just been to collect the bins...But our new furry friend was lovely, and both hubby and I hope our urban fox will call again.

Growing so fast! by Sue Way

This week Billy has started to fill out a bit, so is losing that gangly, leggy look. He is already nearly 6 months, the time is flying by. When he first came home at 8 weeks he took everything he owned to the rusty old weight that we use to hold the back gate open. He has continued to use it as his go to place in the garden & has even used it to teeth on :O But this week he has taken up weightlifting & started to carry it around! It weighs 14lb! He is a funny boy, but also very loving and sweet when he isnt being a crazy puppy. I took this beautiful picture of him today. Here are a couple of my latest designs. http://www.craftsuprint.com/sue-way/?r=968387

First Day of School by Vicki Avcin

Our grandson Axl, has had a big year. He turned 3 and now hes off to school. He started on 9th October for the beginning of term. Well it really isnt school but kindergarten but as his brother and sister go to big school he calls it school. He had no issues or tears at all (his Mum had a tear or two though), Dad got a big hug and then he led the way when they got there. Get a load of the size of the bag on his back! He is going to a Monterossi school and will only go for 3 days a week to start with the first day only 1 hour, then it will increase to 1.5 hrs a day for the first couple of weeks then 9 to 12 for the rest of the term. There is the option to go 9am to 3pm which his Mum might do if hes going well as she has to study. There was so much to see, with the vegetable garden, a huge playground which was taped off and he wasnt impressed about that, but they were relaying the ground cover and is open now. He liked that he had his own basket to put his things in, which might be good as he tends to just leave things at home, but a little responsibility now to keep his things in his basket will be great. They grow up so fast and its hard to believe hes now off to school for the next 15 years of his life!
