Recovering from Surgery by Mary Jane Harris

The past few weeks have been a quiet time of recovery for me. I had two major surgeries on the same day. It was quite traumatic, but being able to sit at my computer and work on things for CUP was a huge help to me. It helped keep my mind off the pain, and it helped me get back on my feet quicker. I still have a ways to go in the recovery process, but I thank God that I am getting better with each day that passes.

I really enjoyed making up both of these kits. I hope you love them both as much as I do!

Walk to the Lighthouse by Vicki Avcin

One of the things I miss since living in Bowen is the annual Walk to the Lighthouse. Each year, usually at the end of winter in August, the tides are at their lowest and Bowenites make the trip to walk from Dalrymple Point (on the mainland) across to North Head Island and then up the steep steps to the top where the lighthouse stands. The sand spit is exposed and each year hundreds of people take the 2 hour journey there and back. Keeping an eye on the tide is a must! For those not so energetic, sitting at the café in Rose Bay or atop Flagstaff Hill, gives top viewing of those that do make the crossing. The lighthouse was used since November 1866 until 1985 and was not manned during its use. Last year it had a major restoration and will stand proudly for many more years to come much to the delight of those who live in Bowen and also those who choose to visit the island. Each year more and more people are making the trip, so much so, that one of the local pubs is now making a festival of it with live entertainment for people returning (and the locals) in the evening afterwards. We will make the trip back one year to walk over again as it really is an amazing experience where it is home to the Giant Red Starfish, which you see during the walk.

This weeks promoted items are two of my newly listed DL size floral cards. As postage is expensive on non regular sizes, I thought I would do these. I hope youll like them.

A Great Time with Nanna and Grandad by Janice McFarlane

My Grandson came to stay recently with us for a week. To keep a very active 6 year old amused we went on quite a few days out. This one was to Wheelgate Adventure Park in Nottinghamshire. Thankfully it was only a twenty minute drive from where we live. Its a combination of a Water Park, Rides and Animals. Alfie found lots to do and queuing for rides wasnt too bad. Alfie loved the waterpark and on a very hot summers day was a welcome coolness. His best part (and mine) was watching the falconry displays and the opportunity to handle two beautiful owls. It was a great day out for all of us.

These are two of my latest kits. Christmas themed - one traditional the other contemporary. Both are on special offer. Thank you for looking.

Bee Trail by Carol Dunne

Last Sunday was quite dull and miserable so we ventured to our nearest big city which is Manchester. All around the city are large bee sculptures which school children and other local groups have painted. You can follow the trail of over a hundred large bees and many smaller ones all around the city. These will eventually be auctioned off for charity. The photo shows three of the bees.

Thank you for looking at my new designs.

The New Addition to Our Family by Diane Hannah

Hi everyone, hope this story finds you all happy and well. This is (JD) Joseph Davis, the newest addition to our ever growing family! This cute little one was born on August 23rd. He was a tiny one. At birth 6 pounds 4 ounces, and when he left the hospital, a mere 5lbs. and 12oz. He is one of our 12 grandchildren. It amazes me that the oldest is almost 21, and JDs brother. It is a very exciting time as I will get to see him in person in just a few days! I will keep you all posted on all of the kids and grand-kids, as time goes by... I hope you all have a beautiful week. Thank you for all of your support. Hugs to all.

This series has a traditional z fold kit, and a z fold word search. Pick your favorite!

Black sand beach in Iceland by Judith Henry

The black sand beach in Iceland is not the same as in Hawaii but unusual nevertheless. We walked through multiple generations of lava rock being washed ashore. It started with boulders, rocks, pea gravel and gradually sand. Our guide told us to only stay where you can see other peoples footprints. The ocean floor has a sudden drop off which will pull you under. No survival. So that is exactly what I did. No surfers here. The water temperature I only 9 C.

Floating Tea Cup by Gillian Hutchinson

While visiting my parents last week my Mum taught me how to make a floating teacup. Her craft room is like an Aladdins cave, everything of every colour so I was spoilt for choice. I went for the black and gold and I think it turned out quite nice. This was my first time using the glue gun, needless to say, I got my finger in the way... It never got in the way again! Once I got over the fingertip burn, blister and topped up the swear box, I was off again to finish the cup. Much fun was had. My Mum had made 3 for her local churches flower festival. Everyone loved them as they were something a little different.

Family Holiday in the Forest! by Sue Way

Last week we all went off to Thetford forest for a family camping holiday. It was Billys first holiday and at 16 weeks old he was such a good boy, he loved spending so much time with Baxter, Kellys Golden. Kelly and her family had their tent and we had our caravan and we parked on a shared pitch. We were so lucky that the weather was brilliant too. The girls had a fantastic time sleeping in a tent, playing in the park, making camps in the forest and making a sock dryer out of wood. It was so relaxing spending so much time outside and walking in the forest. We felt like we were in the middle of nowhere, but managed to find a dog-friendly village pub for a meal on the last night. I am playing catch up with my designs now to make up for having a week off, but here are my latest uploads. http://www.craftsuprint.com/sue-way/?r=968387

Amelia is 5 by Dianne Jackson

Amelia has just had her 5th birthday and she loved her girls world. She loves putting in her slides and clips so much she must have covered every part of the head. She also lost her first tooth on the day too and was so excited that the tooth fairy gave her ÂŁ5. How times have changed. I remember getting a silver sixpence. I am showing 2 designs by Cynthia Massey. Make a wish is a lovely card to send to a 5 year old. Cynthia sent this one to Amelia and she absolutely loved it. It made a nice change from all the Princess cards she received. The second design is a Blessing card that Cynthia specially designed for me as I had an order from someone at church who wanted a Blessing card for a couple who was recently married. This was perfect and you just cannot buy them in the shops. Thank you so much Cynthia, keep your great designs coming

Ann Pickford: I wonder if you could help me, my Laptop crashed and I’ve lost all my Craftsuprint sheets, do you have anyway of me restoring them or are they lost forever? I would be grateful if you could help me in any way, I’m getting my new laptop this week. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
