Music Festival fun! by Sue Way

One of my favourite days of the year is the local music festival. I posted about it a few weeks ago but remembered this picture of my sister-in-law Emma and me. We were in the middle of having a little dance when she asked me which direction the sea was, so I pointed. My brother asked what we were doing and snapped this picture and said it looked like we were doing a new dance. I have been adding lots of new designs this week as we are away for a few days caravaning in the middle of a forest so I wont be around. Its Billys first caravan holiday so should be fun. See you all next week. http://www.craftsuprint.com/sue-way/?r=968387

Beautiful Birds by Vicki Avcin

When is an eagle not an eagle? When its a Brahminy Kite of course. We have a pair of these beautiful birds that come visit every afternoon. They are also called Sea Eagles but they are not strictly an eagle. They live along coastal areas but have been known to go inland. They can be found in northern and eastern Australia but also extend into south east Asia. They mainly like swamp land/mangroves but we have these 2 that we think have a nest in the park at the back of us. We live about a kilometre from the coast line. (or as the birds fly about 800 metres)They fly around every afternoon and the last few weeks appear at bird feeding time around here. We feed/throw mince for the magpies, butcher birds, kookaburras and drongos and this pair of kites have clicked they too can get a free feed. Any mince that isnt taken by the other birds is now swooped on and scooped up with their feet very quickly, often to the magpies disgust as they will chase the kites either hoping to take it or the kite will drop it. Usually an unsuccessful venture though. Their main diet is carrion (dead animals), insects and fish. It will steal from fish hunting birds like seagulls also. They are beautiful graceful birds as they glide around in the sky. The 2 in todays photo are the pair that fly around here.

My items this week are these fabulous pillow boxes, perfect for those small Christmas gifts such as money, tickets, jewellery or fill with sweets. Only two of many designs.

Our New Pussycat by Hilary Hallas

We were very sad when after a long and happy life (23 years) we lost our dear cat Billie about two and half months ago. Weve always had a cat and missed having one around so when I saw a post on Facebook for a cat needing rehoming because its owners were returning to the UK and their London home was not suitable for a French countryside cat we replied and went along to see him. Pom came home with us and has settled in amazingly well, he is used to going outside so we installed a cat flap and now he comes and goes as he pleases. He loves going out exploring all around our house but knows where to come back to for a cuddle and food, although we are hoping he will spend more time indoors during the bad weather in the winter months. At one year and ten months old he still has quite a lot of kitten in him, hes so cute and affectionate and is a totally beautiful addition to our household.

Here are two of my recent cardsheets which are aimed at, shall we say, more senior recipients.

NOT A BAD SMELL .... PEWS by Wanda Lipski

Look at the photo ... Whats the odd ? The pews arent facing in the same direction !!! Absolutely brilliant pews in the cathedral of Nevers where there appeared to be an altar at each end of the nave ... So to solve thhe problem of seating all their pews had seat backs that could be put into one of two positions to let people face forward of backwards. Absolutely ingenious and you must admit it makes a change from cemetaries or dead bodies ..... Have a good week and I hope you enjoy a couple of my latest christmas poppy cuties.

Caoimhes Three by Diane Hannah

Pictured is my granddaughter Caoimhe. She just celebrated her third birthday...and boy is she full of life. The family came to grandmas house for a visit, and to celebrate her birthday. Time sure does fly. Dont let this beautiful innocent little face fool you! She is the most active and fun child. She is constantly on the move, and stays busy from the moment she wakes up until she goes to sleep, and I promise you, she does not need much sleep. This photo was taken while they were at the beach, enjoying the sun and surf. The weekend was fun and exhausting all at the same time!

Reaching New Heights by Janice McFarlane

My 6 year old grandson Alfie recently came to stay with us for a week, we had lots planned with day trips to various places. One planned day out was to the Beautiful Heights of Abraham in Matlock, Derbyshire, which is only about 20 minutes from where we live. To reach the summit on Masson Hill, you have to travel by cable car, when you get to the top, there are all sorts of things to do and explore. I was apprehensive that Alfie would be a little worried on the cable car but I neednt have worried; he absolutely loved it. I on the other hand was quite nervous going up, I dont like heights normally but was willing to do it. I was much better on the way back down. Alfie had a great time, although it did rain a little bit. The extra treat was a fantastic Punch and Judy Show which Alfie loved and giggled all the way through. We had a wonderful week with him, and lots of photos of treasured memories.

The Squirrels by Gillian Hutchinson

Ive been away visiting my parents last week. Thier garden is a little wildlife haven. They now have 4 squirrels that come and visit, the Mum with her three little ones. My Dad had made a pigeon proof feeder for them at the bottom of the garden. While we were upstairs the Mum jumped on the window and started tapping with her paw to let us know there were no nuts left. So after a quick top up, I managed to get a little picture. They are all so adorable, you can sit and watch them all day.
