Weekend Art and Craft Market by Joan King

Recently we have joined a new local Art and Craft Market where we live. Both my husband and I can only do inside markets these days and dont like travelling too far and we found a local one which started up a wee while ago. We thought why not give it a try. They provide all the tables and chairs and we only have to take what we need to display. Much easier. We have now done two of them and this weekend was even better than the first weekend. We didnt expect to make a fortune as it is a new market and it is winter here so no tourists around either. Still my husband was suprised to sell a painting on both of the markets we have done and I sold some cards on the first market and even more on the second so we will continue to support her through the growth period. The room was nice and warm and there was definitely more of a buzz this time. I am starting now to use some of my husbands artworks in my designing.

Here are two of my latest Christmas Cracker kits. Hope you enjoy them.

The Final Three by Janyce Cotterill

Here are the final few photos from our recent trip up to Scotland, UK. We walked a small part of The John Muir Way, which is 134 miles/215 km long, running from Dunbar, East Lothian to Helensburgh, a holiday resort west of Glasgow. This stunning cliff top photo was taken just at the start of the walk at Dunbar. If you enjoy walking/cycling or even horse riding then do check out the johnmuir.org website for more info on the route and the legacy left by this great man. I spotted the cat enroute as we walked to join the J.M. pathway and couldnt resist taking a snapshot and the final photo was taken as the sun was going down. What a wonderful day. Im leaving you with a couple of latest verse toppers. Quite diverse in themes. Three toppers aimed towards men, but can of course be used for whoever you wish. The subject matter of the other two toppers are just a little be different, but the words say it all. Both sheets are on special offer at the moment. Thank you for your interest.

Late Night Walks by Gillian Hutchinson

With the weather being so hot the past few weeks, we are walking the dogs early as we can and as late in the evening as we can once its cooled down. Most of the day they have just been sleeping in front of the fans as its too hot. He enjoyed the walk, chased a rabbit, a partridge and of course the ball.

It's hurricane season again...

by Janice Shehan

Here in south central Florida, close to Disney World, its raining and the hurricanes are beginning in the Caribbean. This year, Im more prepared than last year. I had extra protection put on the house, very few things are in the yard and the gardens are covered. So, Im ready for a last minute clean up. Ill be staying home this year because I went through the last year and just prayed for the Hand of God to be on my home!

SUNNY SUNFLOWERS by Wanda Lipski

On our way back from the hospital where I was fitted with a 24 hours Holter machine, hubby dropped me and the dog for a walk that I had sussed out on a previous occasion, sure I knew where the path would take me. How wrong I was. With the machine pumping up my arm every 15 minutes, we set of, me having told hubby to meet me after his bit of shopping where I expected to end up. An hour later, feeling rather lost, he phoned me to find out where I was. I of course had no idea, but I could hear a road that I was heading towards and could see a field of sunflowers. He drove around until he found the sunflowers and so eventually me and the dog. I snapped my saving field, so Ive chosen to share two of my new calendars, one of which features Sunflowers. Have a good week and ENJOY !

A Morning at Artful Splodgers with my

Granddaughter. by Helen Howell

My my 21month old grandaughters mum asked if I would take her to Artful Splodgers, I quickly accepted. Well, what a fun and messy morning it was. There were all sorts of activities for the very young, green spaghetti pond, which Alyssa was only interested in eating. Feed the shark, a big cardboard shark face with its mouth wide open for posting paper fish through, which she enjoyed, particularly as she likes to file things away! But what she loved the best was the trough of squidgy water balls, you know, the sort you put into a vase of flowers and they expand with the water. She loved to put her hands in and grab hold of the rubbery balls and squish them, I have to admit I liked doing it too! Many other activities for them to touch and play with, Im not sure who had the most fun, her or me!

The Red Shoes by Carol Clarke

Six year old Olivia has a new favourite film ... The Wizard of Oz ... and so this week she had to wear her red sparkly shoes and be just like Dorothy. We went to the railway station to meet one of my older granddaughters off the train and as soon as Olivia saw the arches she decided to hop up and pose for a photo! She hopped and skipped and sang some of the songs from the film all the way home ... but .... she cant manage to work out how to click her heels together 3 times yet! lol Below are 2 of my NEWEST Designs ... Watch out for more coming soon!

Christmas in July by Helen Howell

Here in Oz at Christmas Time the weather is usually very warm, so the traditional Christmas Dinner can sometimes be swapped for a BBQ or a seafood feast, and over the years there seems to have developed another tradition - Christmas in July, which is our winter season. I shared a Christmas feast this last week with my family and my little grandaughter, and delicious it was too! We had Chicken roasted and Turkey Legs roasted along with all the trimmings. Champagne to start and a nice glass of red to go with the meal, baby had water but still managed to clink her water bottle to our glasses - so sweet. We finished off with a mixed berry trifle. Little fun gifts were exchanged in the spirit of the day.

Family Time by Vicki Avcin

The purpose of my visit (besides my wishlist of things to do) was to see and spend time with family. My daughter met me at the train and it was an emotional greeting. She had had a very tough week at work so it was good that shed already put in for a couple of weeks of rec leave already. During the previous week my heart was aching for her and the case that unfolded during the week and I was wishing I was already down there to support her. But probably better that we had more time to be together and talk it out than if shed still been working as wed only have a few hours each day to talk. So I arrived on the Monday and we got lots of time together. Tuesday morning she told me to pack an overnight bag as I was going to one of my sons for the night. Although both he and his wife were working, the kids were on school holidays so plenty of time to catch up with them all. I cant believe how tall theyve grown. Chloe is taller than me and Riley is catching up quickly. Beautiful kids (not that Im biased or anything!). Wednesday morning my daughter came over to pick me up and we then went over to the stepsons place. He was working but his wife and our little Axl were home. Unfortunately Zoe and Zac werent at their Dads place this week so missed out seeing them. We dont have any access to them when the mother has them sadly so couldnt even go and say hello. But the time spent with little Axl was worth it. He got so excited and was trying to show me all his toys, his books, telling me all about his favourite movies and plucking up the courage to pat Jaylee, my daughters dog who had come for the drive with her. Wednesday night and Thursday was spent with my daughter before leaving on Friday morning on the train. I hate the train leaving the station. Im always in tears for about quarter of a hour as we leave Brisbane as Im sad to leave. I always leave a little card somewhere at her house with a little message. This time I hid it in her study books that shes studying for her detective exams. She found it the following day. So a wonderful week spent with our beautiful family…… and cant wait till we see them again soon.

Moving on Up by Janice McFarlane

My eldest granddaughter is called Darcey and is eleven years old, she is the daughter of my late son Christopher. I dont get to see her often as she is not local to me, but when I do time is precious with her. I love to see how well she has grown up, and her find out about her achievements especially at school. She has surpassed expectations with her SATs and she has now left Primary School to move up to High school in September. Her hobbies are dancing (Street Dance and Musical Theatre) and she also sings in a choir. I cant believe where the years have gone, and she has grown up to be a beautiful young lady despite what she has had to go through in her young life. I just wanted to share this because I am so immensely proud of her, and her dad would be proud of her too.

Billy is 11 weeks by Sue Way

Most of my time is spent with my new Golden Retriever puppy at the moment as he is too young to leave for too long. I have just started to go for a little walk to get him used to me leaving the house, but he doesnt like it. Life will be so much easier once he can go for walks, then I can tire him out before I leave him. Last weekend my daughter Kelly decided to introduce him to water. As some of you may remember, our Alfie loved water and was a real beach bum. But Billy wasnt so sure and he went under Kellys arms to feel safe. When Kelly put his feet in the bowl he was walking like he had weights on his feet! It will be interesting to see what he makes of the sea .... watch this space .... http://www.craftsuprint.com/sue-way/?r=968387

Wild flowers by Carol Dunne

We have been taking advantage of the beautiful weather here in the UK at the moment. I cant remember a summer so fantastic. A few days ago we travelled over to Yorkshire to some gardens recommended by a friend. My husband and myself are both very keen gardeners and always delighted to find ones we have not visited before. The gardens were called Breezy Knees and we were thrilled to find them absolutely fabulous. Just before we entered the gardens we found this beautiful wild flower meadow, there are poppies and other flowers amongst the yellow flowers but they are hard to see on the photo.
