In February I had a fall and broke my shoulder, Its been a long painful time, but getting a lot better now ! I would like to thank you all, for buying my designs, when I wasnt uploading much. . You know its cold.......... by Vicki Avcin

When even the cat wants to wear a Flanny (flannelette shirt). Well winter has arrived here Downunder. We had 3 weeks in May that it rained, then the last week of May saw us see the arrival of winter with a cold front move through accompanied with cold westerly winds. Weve even had a couple of days of sunshine (rest cloudy days) which is great as it will dry up some of the saturated ground. This morning weve had our coldest day so far this year at 6 degrees (apparent temp was 3 degrees), but the wind has gone thankfully, so with clear nights its cold! The good old flanny shirt is usually the choice of clothing when it gets cool although jumpers have been dragged out this week and hubby had thrown his flanny on the bed where the cat decided she was cold and needed to wear it. She crawled under it for a couple of hours till her spot near the window got the sun and then she migrated to the sunshine.

Sam is 11 months! by Sue Way

Wow the time is flying by and our little puppy is a BIG 11 months old! I really struggled to pick him up this month and then hubby had trouble taking the picture, so I had to hold him for longer! I dont know how I managed it! I am determined to do it one more time for his 1st birthday though. I love this picture as it looks like Billy is sitting there waiting for his turn lol

An old miners cottage at Dunolly

A weekend ago we went to visit friends in Marybrough (Australia). On the Saturday they took us out and about and one of the country towns we went through was Dunolly, where we stopped off to look at this old Miners Cottage. Marybrough and surrounding towns are all part of the Gold Triangle (Gold rush days), so a lot of gold miners were in the area. This little cottage was made completely out of tin, we think they must have use old petrol cans or the like. Such a sweet looking cottage, although not sure if I would have liked to live in it in the gold mining days.

BROKEN BROKEN BROKEN by Wanda Lipski

CUP has just sent me a gentle reminder that I havent uploaded in a while. There is a very good reason for this so I thought I ought to share. In the last 6 months I have BROKEN MY RIGHT HAND 5 times ... each time a different bone. So for the last six months I have either had no possibility of using my right hand (in plaster) OR limited possibilities (in a splint). What I canNOT do is hold a cutter to make up designs and so test them out before uploading them. This photo was the first plaster cast. The current cast is Pink!!! Very summery. But I cant transfer the photo from my photo to my computer. It gives a whole new meaning to the word HANDicapped! But Ill be back cos I reckon 5 bones is ENOUGH!

Jubilee Bake Sale by Janice McFarlane

Well as the jubilee weekend is here, with events going on around the country, one event at RAF Benson was a Jubilee Bake Sale. My daughter who is raising money for the British Red Cross as part of her London Marathon fundraising, had a stall. There were a lot of kind and generous friends who baked for her, and she even sold a few of the crochet gnomes I made for her, for another stall she is having on Sunday as part of a Jubilee funday. She made a whopping £308.00, which is amazing. I am so proud of her and what she is achieving, and Im sure the event on Sunday will be another fruitful time.

Tomatoes in June! by Amanda Assenbruck

We have had a week with very little rain for a change. We did get a bit on Sunday and looks like well get some more tonight and over the next few days, but at least we had a little time to dry out and get some lawn mowed. We can get frosts here anytime after Anzac Day (25 April) but have been lucky so far this year. We did get down to 3 degrees Celsius the other night. We have never had tomatoes still growing at this time of year. Not that i am getting any ripe ones as being beside our chook pen the chooks get to them from inside and also when i let them out to roam. The grass is still green but hopefully will stop growing now for the winter though i do enjoy the wallabies and hares on the lawn! I tell them to eat more grass so i wont have to mow but even they cant keep up.
