New Gym by Sue Way

Last year hubby was told to walk for 30 minutes a day by the doctor, this was easy in the summer as we walked along the seafront every evening. But as the weather got wilder we decided to invest in a treadmill. Hubby had to make room for it in his workshop, but he is very good and uses it at least 3 times a week. I am an exercise junkie, so loved having our own treadmill and go on it on days when I dont visit the gym. Then he decided he needed to tone up, so we ordered a small multi-gym. This meant that all of hubbys lino-cut hobby had to have a new home, so we made space in my office which I didnt mind as we now have a dedicated home gym. I put all my other weights and mats etc out there too, its a dream come true for me lol Jessica and Imogen quite like it too ... under strict supervision of course. Baby Chicks by Diane Hannah

Here are four new additions to our family! We recently purchased a small chicken coop, that looks like a little dollhouse. It is adorable, but no where near a cut as these little chicks. We have had them for about 8 weeks now, and boy do they grow fast. When we got them they were so tiny. They fit right in the palm of your hand. Not anymore! They have grown in leaps and bounds. We should start getting eggs from these little pretties by the end of August. In the mean time I will enjoy watching them grow, play and chase each other around the coop!

tete a tete tulips! by Anne Lever

My mum loves gardening, and she also loves a bargain. She bought some cheap packs of bulbs from a well known lower priced supermarket, and didnt expect them to be anything but ordinary. She grew crocus, which survived being covered in six inches of snow....twice, beautiful white tete a tete daffodils with yellow centres and eight heads per stem, and the most unusual tulips I have ever seen. The crocus and the daffs are over now, but the tulips are just coming into their own. They are multi headed tulips, which I have never ever seen before! They have between five and seven full tulip flowers, growing from each stem. I thought they would end up being small, but they are growing into full sized tulips, just many of them! The pictures on the front of the bulb bags didnt give any indication that they were different, so it just goes to show, expensive doesnt always mean the best!

ANZAC Day 2018 by Vicki Avcin

April 25th each year we remember those who sacrificed so much for their countries. The spirit of the ANZACs is something special to Australia and New Zealand people when we think about and honour those brave troops that landed at Gallipoli, on that date. It has become much more though as it now encompasses not only those brave men but all those who have served in all wars and conflicts since then. So this year I was up at 3am to go into town with our brigade to assist in setting up the blockades to close the streets of Hervey Bay for the services held to commemorate this special day. We had to fill the water barriers across several streets. Then it was back to the station and get ready to be at River Heads at 5.45am for the march and service held for the locals. Each year the Brigade lays a wreath and Ive been humbled each year to be one of the wreath bearers. This year I was joined by one of our female members which was appropriate as this year, all services have for the first time emphasised the contribution of all the women who long ago and currently have served their country. In the World Wars as nurses and today as members of our military services. Always a very poignant day and well worth sacrificing a few hours sleep to honour our fallen.

Well after me writing last weeks mailer news saying Austin wasnt too thrilled at starting nursery here he is all happy again this week! He settled in so well that after the first day his Mum didnt have to stay, (she was scheduled to stay with him for 3 sessions) .... and as you can see he really loved our trip to the park after school too! Lol

Quick Let us have a BBQ by Janice McFarlane

Ok so I know the weather has been terrible to say it is spring. So the first hint of the sun shining along with the temperatures rising and we all go mad. Out comes the summer wardrobe, shorts, T-shirts, flip flops and of course everyone makes a bee-line for the garden, sun loungers, parasols, paddling pool for the kids, at last great weather. Of course the men make a stampede towards the BBQ and my grandson, joined in the fun. He decided he was going to follow in his dads footsteps and get the BBQ going, (ok, it is a toy) nevertheless he is getting in some good practice for when he is older. It is a shame though, that the lovely warm sunshine was very short lived. Ah well back to the wellies and souwester!

Going Tech by Tina Fitch

My visit to Lakenheath this week gave me this shot! They sat on the runway ready to go for about an hour surrounded by fire engines and police... Glad they decided to sit and wait it could have been nasty had they have taken off then found out they had a problem.As you can see the pilot still in his seat with his navigator too.. New way of camping by Silvia Griffin

On our last trip to Australia we found this unusual camper we have never seen before.We live in a 35 feet Camper full time so we always take a walk around the RV parks to see if there is something new.Especially since our RV company when out of business and we cannot get another one we own.This look realy like a great Caravan for a single or couple for a nice weekend getaway or a sunny place where you can sit outside.
