Hubbys 35th Birthday! by Amy Perry

This week it was my husbands 35th birthday! He had a lovely day full of cards presents and chocolate ( i had to help him eat it obviously!) We finished the perfect day with a meal at our local pub with my mum dad nan and the kids, and the boys had to order the biggest ice cream sundae on the menu EACH! The kids version was way to small for my boys! haha

Here are two of my newest designs, These designs are so beautiful and even better made up into a card x

Open Weekend Craft Fair by Joan King

Twice a year my husband and I have an open weekend for our Arts and Crafts my finished cards and my husbands paintings. It is held over two days and it is nice to run something from home. No early starts and we can share the workload. It was another good weekend and the next one will be in September/October. I have put on a montage of photos from the day.

Here are two of my recent designs. There are 24 in total in the dog series. A dog for everyone plus a roses card for a variety of occasions.

Easter Fun While There Was Sun by Janice McFarlane

The Easter holidays are well and truly behind us now. The children are back at school (hooray, I hear the parents shouting). Admittedly, it has been a rather strange Easter with it being early this year, but I dont think anyone could have prepared us for the bizarre weather we had. I cant remember ever seeing snow at Easter, we usually think of spring, sunshine and daffodils. So the lousy weather this year put a dampener on most seasonal frolics with the mixture of constant rain and snow. On the rare occasion when the sun did decide to show its shameful face I think most people decided to take advantage before it changed its mind and went into hibernation again. My daughter certainly thought so, a glimmer of brightness and coats where whipped on and the family escaped the confines of the house into the cold but sunny outdoors. My two grandchildren certainly enjoyed themselves, and there was a welcome relief on the mums faces in the park at being able to relax while the children played, even if it was short lived.

These are two of my latest kits in my Dancing with Unicorns series. Thank you for looking.

ALL THE JOYS OF SPRING by Wanda Lipski

It might not look much to you, but the LEAVES ARE OUT on the trees in my garden, out enough that they actually look like leaves. With a sudden burst of summer here in summer after a long, long, dreary winter, its about time. Weve heard endlessly about how the spring is a fortnight late (and we live at 800 m so even later for us) but the temperatures have suddenly rocketed up to an unseasonably hot 24- 26 this week and we have no shade in the garden. Well thats about to change ... thankyou leaves ! Ive caught the sun on my two forays away from translation and into the garden, but I chose not to put up a photo of me ... You might have mistaken CUP for a cookery site with me posing a lobster thermidor. I hope wherever you are that the sun has reached you too. Have a sunny week ....

I Met Joan King!! by Linda Wright

Im doing the new course for becoming a Designer that Sarah Edwards has produced and there is a special facebook page just for the group. Joan King joined the class as well and she was making comments etc. and then we started messaging each other as she lives in Tauranga. It was neat being able to talk with someone else from my part of the world instead of feeling all by yourself. Last weekend Joan was having an open weekend and I managed to convince Tony to take us over and have a look see. It wasnt too bad a trip going over with just misty rain now and again and not too much traffic. We arrived and there she was sitting in the garage with all her cards all about her and she was working on the laptop. It was so neat to meet her. WOW!! I was blown away with all the lovely cards she had made and on sale that I had to buy some special ones she had. I cant remember what they were called now but they were beautiful. You had special chalks or crayons and had to melt them to make the design. Her husband Dennis is a very good artist as well so they make a really good team. Joan is a very lovely person and really bubbly and friendly. We had a good visit talking about our designs and other things that we do and I was envious of her craft room. I have just a small table in the bus and we only have 12 volt power so I cant have fancy gadgets. I was ever so pleased we made the trip to meet her and Dennis. On the way back though the GPS took us to a roundabout and said to take the second exit but Tony missed that and it then took us back to a point to start again. This time he took the right exit but it was still wrong [probably because of all the road works over there] and so this time it took us to a different way and then we were happy as we could see we were back on our way to Hamilton. Tony didnt like all the road works over in Tauranga though.

These are two of my latest designs which I hope you like. There is also another just being uploaded which is a Green Lace Easel Card so do look out for that one.

Spring in Georgia by Judith Henry

Three snow storms in April has put a damper on our spring. We had rain, hail and then snow while being in a tornado watch all in one day. So Im ready for May to come. Meanwhile, I continue to look at the pictures of spring in Savannah Georgia. What a lovely place to vacation. The trees are in bloom. The sky is blue. The food and music great.

New School Uniform by Carol Clarke

Sadly the youngest of our six grandchildren starts school next week. Three year old Austin will be going to the school nursery 5 days a week so our Cuddle and Giggle Day outings will be restricted to school holiday time :( As you can see Austin was as thrilled as we were! lol I will get to fetch him and his older sister from school each week though and Im sure stopping at the park on the way home will soon cheer him up! lol Its scary to think how quickly they grow up and that is only a years time he will be starting big at school!! Below are two of my NEWEST designs .... Watch out for more Coming Soon!!

My daughter did it! by Janice Shehan

She actually swam with the manatees here in central Florida, USA. She had a terrific time and was amazed at their sizes. A bit shy at first, she soon joined the front of the group and found herself nose to nose with a mama! There was also a baby, called a calf that was about 125 pounds. The mother calf relationship is the strongest in the manatee world.

Spring! by Anne Lever

Spring has finally arrived! It took a long time coming this year! We are having a very welcome heatwave, and all the spring flowers are bursting forth. These beautiful yellow tulips are in my mums garden, and they were so bright and cheerful that I had to take a snap and show you all. The weather has changed very suddenly here in Somerset, very cold and rainy one day, up to 20 and gorgeous sunshine the next! Long may it last x

Ruby Wedding Anniversary by Sue Way

On April the 1st, yes April fools day, hubby and I celebrated our Ruby Wedding Anniversary! Which is 40 years. For our Pearl Anniversary 10 years ago I bought us a little magnolia tree for our garden and this year it looks absolutely beautiful and has the most blooms it has ever had. I wonder what it will look like for our Sapphire. This week I was requested to make some holy communion designs. I hope you like them. http://www.craftsuprint.com/sue-way/?r=968387

Joey Double by Vicki Avcin

All the rain we have had this year has been great for the garden but it has also meant that the kangaroos have had a great breeding season. Last few years weve only had one mumma who come to visit us and show off her joey. This year due to the abundance of food, we welcomed another mumma and her joey as well. Kangaroos tend to not breed if there is a drought with little food. When food is plentiful especially after a wet season they will breed well. They stay in the pouch for around 190 days when they will then leave the pouch and learn to live in the outside world. Once they get to the stage about being 4 to 6 weeks before leaving the pouch it is quite comical to see the joey in the pouch still drinking from its mothers teat but because of the size it is there are legs and a tail hanging out of the pouch as there isnt enough room. They will stick their heads out of the pouch and graze on the grass while the mum is eating. You can see by the photo one has its head out and the other has his or her legs hanging out upside down suckling. We welcome these 2 little ones into the mob and look forward to watching them growing up and who knows, maybe one is a female and will one day have her own little joey and come visit.
