My latest Knits by Cynthia Massey

I have been busy knitting for a relative who is expecting a little boy at the beginning of June and if the weather doesnt warm up he will be glad of these little woolies, I have also designed a birth congratulations card to send with the 2 knitted matinee jackets, the pram blanket and the baby hUGG boots! Generation by Janyce Cotterill

I came across these three head sculptures last week, the title of the completed works is, Generation. They are the work of sculpture, Joseph Hillier and are made using different processes and metals. They are part of a welcoming space in the University where Joseph Hillier studied. His work has been widely exhibited in sculpture parks and galleries over the years. I do enjoy works of sculpture, I find them stimulating, educational, thought provoking and a talking point, exactly as art work should be! Im leaving you with my latest kit, Insert Collection Kit 2. Set 1 has proved quite popular so Ive put another one together. I hope you enjoy it. Thank you for your interest.

Bodnant visit by Carol Dunne

It has been raining for days, very depressing. Now it has finally stopped so we went for a ride out to one of our favourite places to visit, Bodnant Gardens in North Wales. No matter what time of year we go there are always flowers in bloom. This visit was no exception, all the camellias were in bloom. Unfortunately my photo isnt very good but the red rhododendron was beautiful and a lot of spring flowers were out. We will be visiting again soon when the magnolias will be in flower and the azaleas. Something to look forward to.

Sad Times! by Tina Fitch

I learnt today Nellis AFB lost one of their display pilots in a training exercise ! Thunderbird 4 crashed in the Test and Training Range in the Nevada desertOnly 2 weeks ago I was there watching them for 9 days doing their displays! They never once faltered and delivered a fantastic display always.This is the last photo I took of Thunderbird 4 Maj. Stephen Del Bagno! Thank you for your service Sir! Blue Skies

In the Wars! by Carol Clarke

3 year old austin has been in the wars this week. As he was walking with his Mum to take his sister to school he tripped up and fell over on the pavement near school. He is quite tall for a three year old and has just had another growth sput and so his centre of balance was all off. Bless him he did most of the damage to his face and looks like hes done 5 rounds in the boxing ring. Luckily the damage looks worse than it is and he soon cheered up again. Meet Rory the Robot Vacuum by Clare Walker

So Easter was wet. Naturally, the perfect time to go out and buy a robot vacuum cleaner, my very-techie husband decided. I was fine with that...but more than a bit sceptical about whether the thing would actually work.To my surprise, it`s turned out beautifully. The robot (who swiftly became Rory as that`s the noise he makes when beetling along) does actually suck up dust. Yes, he does seem to get fixated on one area at a time (the robot, not the husband. Though come to think of it, that description might sometimes fit both of them...). And yes, Rory does get stuck in the strangest of places. Currently, the bottom of a swivel chair is his nemesis.The real issue is that the time we`re supposed to save whilst Rory is battling dust, is taken up, at the moment, with us watching the miracle of automatic vacuuming, open-mouthed and goggle-eyed. And when a piece of tech gets that reaction, somehow you know that the world will never be quite the same again...

Imogens Birthday Party! by Sue Way

Imogen had her Birthday a few weeks ago, but as the girls were so busy rehearsing for a musical they were performing in, the party had to wait. Finally, on Saturday she had a brilliant character party, hosted by one of our friends. She is excellent as she used to work as a performer in holiday parks and is also a Zumba instructor. Imogen had a wonderful time and loved seeing Ariel and Stuart the Minion, who is a little bit naughty lol You can see how happy she is in the pictures. Gold Coast 2018 by Vicki Avcin

Well all those reading this in a Commonwealth country would be aware the Commonwealth Games 2018 is happening now at our beautiful Gold Coast in Australia. Prior to the games the Queens Baton relay happens for the year prior, leaving Buckingham Palace with a message from the Queen in it and the relay goes to every Commonwealth country on its journey to the opening of the Games. This message is read at the opening ceremony, in the Queens absence it will be read by Prince Charles. One of the baton bearers on its journey, was one of my fellow firefighters, First Officer and Auxiliary Captain where I first began my firefighting career. Bernie carried the baton as it went through Beenleigh, a city about halfway between Brisbane and the Gold Coast. I am so proud of him as he well deserved the honour of being one of the baton bearers. He is due to retire at the end of June and after 25 years in the service this is a wonderful way to recognise his contribution to the community as a firefighter. At the end his leg of the relay he handed the baton to Jessica Schipper OAM who is a champion in her own right in the field of swimming. She won gold in Olympic, Commonwealth Games and World Championships. The Games mascot is a blue koala called Borobi. Borobi is a male koala with blue fur and unusual markings on his paws. The name Borobi is derived from a dialect used by the Yugambeh people, an indigenous Australian group from the Gold Coast region.
