Robins have returned by Judith Henry

I think it is quite unusual for us to have robins the first of March especially during a storm with rain, ice thunder and then snow. I took this photo from inside the house so it has frozen raindrops on the panes. These are robins eating in our crab tree. There were over 12 along with chickadees and cacklers at the bird feeder. I filled it and they came. We are all confused since last week we had temperatures in the high 40 F. Today winter is back.

Still thinking Spring/summer with my card making.

Cleanup Australia Day 2018 by Vicki Avcin

In 1989 an average Australian bloke had a simple idea to make a difference in his own backyard - Sydney Harbour. This simple idea has now become the nations largest community-based environmental event, Clean Up Australia Day.The following year Clean Up Australia Day was born in Sydney with over 30,000 people turning up to cleanup. It became an annual event and is now done all over Australia with everyone from school kids to families, organisations and businesses joining in. This concept is now a worldwide event each year....... from little things big things grow! In the past 27 years, Australians have devoted more than 32 million hours towards the environment through Clean Up Australia Day and collected over 344 thousand tonnes of rubbish. As part of the Booral Community Association, myself and our members teamed up to register and on Sunday 4th March we walked the local streets that we felt were the worst areas for rubbish. We found everything from bottles (both plastic and glass), cans, paper, ceramic tiles, broom handle, mattresses, tyres, car parts and even an old vacuum cleaner. There was a lot of green waste(grass clippings and tree cuttings) also but being natural products these will break down. It amazed us how people can just dump the green waste instead of going to the refuse station as green waste is free to dump. We collected many many bags of rubbish which was all taken to a central point at the local park for the council to collect that afternoon. It was hot work but we all were quite happy despite the heat knowing weve helped clean up part of our little community. Everyone said they will be signing up again next year and we hope a few more will come on board also so more streets can be done. Was a great effort by everyone

This week Im promoting 2 great designs that will be perfect for Easter (or a Birthday).

Beautiful Blanket by Anne Lever

My daughter crochets, and i am in awe as her hook moves at speed through the wool. I cannot crochet for toffee, or knit. My crafty outlet is designing and cross stitching! I bought her a set colourway of wool for christmas, ready to make this blanket. It is gorgeous as it incorporates lots and lots of different crochet stitches. I love the way it is stitching up.

I WAS CAUGHT IN FROZEN by Wanda Lipski

Ive been quiet this week as I was in the UK for my Mums 80th birthday. We arrived 4 hours later than planned, as the trains were delayed because of the snow at this end, and it was the same thing once we had passed the tunnel. To say that it was a fraught journey is only half the truth. My blood pressure was sky-high but we got there for her big day. My son up in Edinburgh was not so lucky, since the airport was closed due to the weather and he was unable to fly down to join us. We did get one frozen smile out of the adventure (apart from Mums of course) and that was this snowman, made by my brother -in-law. Im sure it will give you a chuckle too. Just had to share it. And to keep the frosty theme, a couple of frozen cards. Stay warm and ENJOY !

Chilly Walk! by Carol Clarke

Like a lot of the country this week we felt the full blastof the Beast from the East! Sadly for us it arrived with enough snow to bring just about everything to a halt. Temperatures plummeted brrr feeling like -10 in the wind. All the schools closed, buses, trains and trams stopped running and roads became all but unpassable, and lots of road local accidents too. BELOW are 2 of my NEWEST Floral Diorama Shadow Box Mini Cards. These make great Mothers Day cards. Watch out for more Coming Soon!

My camera must have thought hey up! whats happening here as I kept my finger on the shutter to get continuous shots one after the other so as not to miss any of it.I am off to Los Angeles and Las Vegas this week too.. Not for casinos though sadly.. Off to Nellis AFB and I just cant wait. Its red flag Exercise for the Air Force base which will have loads of visiting aircraft so look out for next weeks shot!As always more uploaded for you in all formats for all machines.. https://www.craftsuprint.com/tina-fitch/

Snow Fun by Janice McFarlane

Well, what a week it was last week. Last time I remember a snowfall like we had, was when I was a child, and it certainly didnt phase us then. Everyone just got on with it. We loved playing in the snow as children, the cold didnt bother us and we stayed outside as much as we could, just having good fun. When my daughter Kayleigh sent me this picture of my grandchildren on their sled it really made me smile. Alfie (or should I say comrade Alfie in that Russian hat) being the eldest loved it with a big thumbs up. Harry on the other hand being his first time in the snow wasnt so sure, but it still made a great picture.

Daisy In The Snow - She Didnt Like It! by Valerie Dawes

My little dog, Daisy, took a look at the snow recently and decided it wasnt her sort of thing at all!Shes such a funny little soul who has quite a fan club amongst our neighbours, many of whom will come outside specially to give her a tickle when she goes past on her walks; walks that is, that only take place on dry, preferably sunny days!....

The Beast from the East! by Sue Way

Well, what an eventful week the UK had last week, as we were all gripped by The Beast from the East We havent seen this much snow in years, in fact, our seaside town usually misses out completely. But not this time. Even though the beach looked very pretty covered in snow, the biting cold wind made walking very hard work. Alfie thought it was great fun and still had a little roll on the beach. Every time he went in the garden he had a good explore and even a little taste of snow lol A lot of shops ran out of bread and milk, but we were lucky and found our shops well stocked by the time we ventured into them. Now the snow has thawed all I can say is roll on Spring! This week I have added some more to my Sweet Little series, thank you for looking. http://www.craftsuprint.com/sue-way/?r=968387
