Gorgeous Kitten... by Janice Shehan

Well, I have finally decided to get a kitty. Im so excited to have found a true purebred Ragdoll kitten! I dont know if it will be a boy or a girl, but definitely the blue color and lynx pattern. It should be arriving the end of March. Below is a photo of my blue, lynx girl I had about 18 years ago, gorgeous! They are like puppies and follow you around, very gentle and affectionate, and have fur like a bunny. I looked for a very long time for the deep blue sapphire eyes which the breeders and judges covet. Im very excited to have my new baby soon!

Getting ready for the upcoming holidays!

Catching up with Old Friends in Sydney

by Helen Howell

I was delighted to hear that my very old friend and her husband from England were coming out to Sydney to visit her daughter and her new baby grandson. It had been at least three years since I had seen her, we go back a long time to our days in the typing pool when I was 18 and she 21. I knew I couldnt let the chance of seeing them slip buy, so I got my husband to arrange a flight from Melbourne to Sydney in order to spend a day with them. It was such a delightful day, and there are no friends like old friends. We met on the steps of the Sydney Opera house, where hugs and greetings were exchanged. We walked around the tourists venues and had a lovely lunch together ending up with a final cup of coffee in the Botanical Gardens. Saying goodbye is always hard, but I look forward to seeing them again sometime in the future.

FRANCE UNDERWATER by Wanda Lipski

Well large swathes of France anyway. The photo was sent by a cousin who is doing a lot of sloshing about - and without a glass of wine in her hand! Were sitting pretty since we live at 700m above sea level, although when we moved into this house I did find myself ankle deep in water in one of my cellars before we discovered that there was a pump and a well/reservoir inside the house. So our hearts go out to our wetter cousins while we stay warm and dry. Ive been busy playing with animals this week and I hope you enjoy my latest creations featuring photos of animals inside their silhouettes. If youd like a particular animal featured in one of these cards, then just drop me a line and Ill see what I can come up with. Stay dry and ENJOY!

Australia Day 2018 by Vicki Avcin

26th January saw Aussies celebrate Australia Day. The way its celebrated varies but it is a public holiday and the majority of Aussies celebrate with a BBQ with snags (sausages) being the main cuisine, but steak and other meat items are also on the menu according to ones tastebuds. (throw another shrimp on the barbie?) Copious amounts of amber fluid (beer) is also consumed also during the day. Various traditional games are played also throughout the day such as Thong Throwing, Backyard cricket is extremely popular (with wheelie bin stumps), Cockroach racing and Dunny Racing. All these things take place in backyards, streets, parks and at the beach all over the country. It is a day when all Australians celebrate this great land and all it has to offer. Australia Day is the official national day of Australia. Celebrated annually on 26th January, it marks the anniversary of the 1788 arrival of the First Fleet of British ships at Port Jackson, New South Wales and the raising of the Flag of Great Britain at Sydney Cove by Governor Arthur Phillip. We celebrate the countries diversity, we reflect on our history and citizenship ceremonies are held around the country. The photo is taken down at my fire station where members got together and had a BBQ and relaxed. We werent sure quite how long the celebrations would last as the temperature was around 35 deg Celsius so some couldnt celebrate with the alcoholic fluid and had to stick to the soft drinks in case the call came to attend a fire. None the less we all had a great day.

This week Im promoting 2 of my Australian items. A beautiful mini kit featuring the Australian bottlebrush and my Australian floral background papers. For all my Australian designs type Australia or Australian into the search in my store.

My Lovely Surprise! by Carol Clarke

Each week during term time on our Cuddle & Giggle Days I collect 5 year old Olivia from school. When I fetched her the very first day I took her a small present and somehow this has now become a big part of the routine. Shes had farm animals, dinosaurs, bugs, butterflies, spiders, unicorns, shaped erasers, finger puppets, etc etc etc. She calls these her special things and we often have to examine and admire them. Well imagine my surprise when this week she gave me a little bag and inside that bag was this wonderful letter that said - To Nana from Olivia Thank You for my speshil things Sooo .... I now have a very very speshil thing of my own to treasure and admire! Below are 2 of my NEWEST Designs ... Watch out for more coming soon!

Water Baby by Janice McFarlane

My 8 month old adorable grandson has had his first swimming session. He has loved being in the water from having his first bath, unlike his older brother who always screamed the place down. Harry is the smiliest happiest baby, certainly out of all my grandchildren anyway. He was all smiles and giggles in the water at the swimming baths in Oxford. He looks so cute in his little swimsuit and his oversized arm bands, just raring to go. Our very own water baby.

Chinese New Year ... again! by Sue Way

Some of you may remember my news story from this time last year when I told you about an online friend from Singapore, who find sit funny that I am in love with a Chinese New Year song, that I found on YouTube about 10 years ago. We met via an online Golden Retriever forum & now send each other Christmas cards & gifts every now & then. But she once again surprised me with this years Chinese New Year card, which arrived the other day. I have already put it on display, because it is so lovely, even though its not until 16 February. Inside she has written 新年好 which means New Year goodness! I hope the Chinese characters show up in the newsletter, if not you will have to look it up lol This week I have added lots of new mini kits including one for either Easter or a Spring Birthday & a cute one of a girl taking a selfie. http://www.craftsuprint.com/sue-way/?r=968387

To a New Year by Sharon V

So here we are a New Year and there are many things to look forward to . It has been quite the year that has passed. Cup has been great to me as my sales have been my highest yet and my designs and resources have been improving. I am excited and grateful for that . I also feel great as a lot of things have come to light, and now there is a shift in my focus. Unfortunately one of those things that have come to light are that not everyone in life are respectful and I must not take this personally as I normally do. I know that in the past some of my choices werent the greatest but I am an adult and a human and I make mistakes and so does everyone. live and learn . I am done explaining myself to anyone more than I have to, or at all for that matter as again, I am an adult and not a child .If you do not like something that is your issue not mine. I have come to realize true mutual respect . I have this respect for many designers and crafters here and I have learned to just dust of those who do not respect me and that is ok. This is growing and I am grateful for it . I am happy with myself and how much I have learned and how far I have come here at Cup and in life, And that is what truly matters , Stay Blessed ..

Frank Lloyd Wright - Stockman House

by Judith Henry

Study nature, love nature, stay close to nature. It will never fail you. Quote by Frank Llyod WrightIm not sure how many outside the states would know the architect Frank Lloyd Wright. His prairie architecture is famous around the world. We are honored to have two in my hometown. The one in the picture is the Stockman house built in 1908. We also have the Historic Park Inn which is the last remaining hotel he built. I have been trying to design a popup card for several years now of the Stockman home. That is my New Years resolution for 2018. I hope to have some made for sale at the interpretive center when it opens for the season in May.
