HUSBAND IS YET ANOTHER YEAR OLDER by Wanda Lipski

Last year I took a photo of hubby standing outside in the snow with a cake for 40, as we had to cancel his birthday bash due to the highly inclement weather conditions. This year (his 76th) went much better and he was able to enjoy his granddaughter here shown helping him blow out his birthday candle (yes its a tea light ... I had nothing else to hand). As we hadnt seen his family over Christmas we had to keep all the decorations up until we could celebrate Christmas and his birthday !!! Nina loved the crackers ... they dont do crackers here in France and wore her hat throughout lunch. I had a bit of difficulty translating the jokes for her though. Ive been busy creating a lot of very soft feminine cards this week, so watch out for them as I put them up. Here are a couple of my other recent creation, so ENJOY !

What a Beauty by Janice McFarlane

This is Hercules, a beautiful, majestic Maine Coon Cat, which are the largest breed of domestic cats. Believe you me they can grow enormous. I would love to say he is mine, but alas, not. He is the resident cat of the Kitty Cafe in Nottingham City Centre. I havent personally been, its not a café you can just walk in to, you have to book. My friend is the lucky one who has been, and it is she who took the picture of this magnificent specimen. Apparently you can have tea, and cake with a selection of cats, all who are well cared for and have either been re-homed or awaiting to find their forever family. If you are a cat lover it is well worth the visit, but be prepared for a wait as there is a waiting list, because it is so popular. I would imagine, Hercules is the main attraction. Why wouldnt he be? He is gorgeous, just look at that face!

The Koala Hospital - Port Macquarie by Silvia Griffin

The Koala Hospital consists of a treatment room, 8 Intensive Care Units, 6 outdoor intensive care units and 33 rehabilitation yards, many of which have trees for koalas to learn to climb as part of the rehabilitation process. On my visit to Australia we visited this lovely place. It is not only a Hospital to treat sick and injured koalas but it is also involved in research with University Sydney, University Technology Queensland and the Australian Museum into koala diseases. Between 200 and 250 koalas are admitted through the Hospital annually. Apart from Chlamydia, motor vehicle accidents and dog attacks are the most common cause of injuries sustained, predominantly during the breeding season. The Koala Hospital established in 1973 is an activity of the Koala Preservation Society Australia Incorporated.he Koala Hospital is a licensed Wildlife Rehabilitation Facility carrying out on-site procedures. All procedures and treatments are done at the Koala Hospital except for major surgeries and X rays which are undertaken at the Port Macquarie Veterinary Hospital.A koala can climb a tree expertly with considerable speed when necessary. On the ground they are also capable of reasonable speed over short distances.Koalas sleep approx. 18 hours out of 24. This is an evolutionary strategy to conserve their energy as the eucalypt leaf is so low in nutrients/energy value.Koalas eat at all times but mostly in the early morning and early evening and during each day consume approximately half a kilogram of leaves

Back To School 2018 by Vicki Avcin

22nd January saw the start of the school year for Aussie kids. Although most children started on the Monday for the majority some did not start till Tuesday. Our grandkids were there all ready for the new year and looking forward to it. Zoe started her second year of high school (year 8) while Zac started his first year of high school (year7). Riley is still in primary school as is Nathaniel. Chloe also is in high school (year 8) Even little Bella graduated from baby kindy to toddler kindy this week. Ive not got photos yet of Chloe or Nathaniel but as you can see in the photos the others are happy to go back and see all their friends and learn new things. As it worked out Chloe was lucky as it was her birthday on Monday 22nd January and as she is in 2nd year high school she didnt start till Tuesday….. so day off for her birthday!

Board Games by Sue Way

As much as youngsters (and me) love technology, you cant beat a good old fashioned board game. So we put away the phones and tablets and decided to play one of the games the girls got for Christmas. I personally love board games and quite often play Scrabble with hubby when we are away in our caravan. So Kelly, me and the girls set up Game of Life. We used to play this when Kelly was a little girl, luckily the rules have been simplified since then, although there was still a lot of them lol But even little Imogen soon got the hang of it. We had a lot of fun and it lasted for a good few hours, with a break in the middle. Jessica was the winner, so we need a return match very soon! This week, as well as becoming an exclusive CUP designer, I have added some Sweet Little Fairy Tale ladies. I hope you love these as much as I do. http://www.craftsuprint.com/sue-way/?r=968387

Making Sassy Cheryl Valentines for Shut-Ins by Judith Henry

My church group called Eat Pray Love meets every other Saturday morning just to talk, have coffee and treats. Our pastor says we Eat, Pray, Love and then Eats some more. A lot of love goes into the projects we do throughout the year. We have made many banners, shared sorrows and joys, and made holiday cards. This time we made valentine cards which will be distributed by the deacons to our shut-ins.
