Relief For Orange Trees by Janice Shehan

Hello everyone. I live in Florida, about an hour from Disney World. Well another product of Florida is orange juice. Due to the unusually cold temperatures, this winter, we may have an orange juice shortage in 2018. Not only oranges, but other citrus as well. The counties surrounding my home grow, of course oranges, limes, lemons and strawberries. The palm trees are feeling the cold too.We have gorgeous, healthy palms all over the property. I am blessed to live in Florida, you still dont have to shovel the cold :)

A new style and size box I found. This is like a card and box in one! You can use all of the decoupage and embellishments or only a few-add your own! Many options!

Bluebirds Over the White Cliffs of Dover

by Janice McFarlane

Back in October 2017, my husband and I were invited by friends to a 1940s event at Papplewick Pumping Station, Nottingham. Having never been to one before, we really didnt know what to expect. Our friends regularly attend these events as they take part, and dress in genuine 1940s clothes, sometimes uniform or civilian. We had a fantastic day out, with numerous displays of vehicles, militaria, music, weapons and more. We were greeted at the entrance by a contingency of German soldiers, who really looked and played their part well. We watched a display of a fire pump, showing how they were used to put the fires out during the blitz, as well as a small battle between the English and Germans. But our most favourite part was the music. All the wonderful big band sounds of the 1940s. There were live performances by a trio of beautiful young ladies called the Bluebird Belles, in their R.A.F. Uniforms, singing classic songs from that era. They were amazing with their close harmonies, reminisce of the Andrews Sisters. Whilst neither of us are old enough to remember the war. we certainly took a step back in time, and had a lovely day out.

These are two of my latest kits, both co-ordinate with each other, so you have a beautiful card and keepsake gift. Suitable for Birthdays, Mothers Day etc.

Christmas In Miniature by Valerie Dawes

Even though Christmas seems like an age ago now, I was really taken with this sweet little picture taken of my Christmas village. At such a close viewpoint, it looks so real and just like I always imagine Christmas SHOULD be, with crisp snow, twinkling lights and a warm glow coming from every window. Hard to believe its just the top of my sideboard!

My Christmas lanterns become beautiful greetings cards, keepsakes and gift-boxes for all year round use!

Christmas 2017 by Vicki Avcin

As usual with grandkids growing up and not knowing clothing sizes or what they liked (especially with teenage girls) we were trying to work out what to get them as presents this year. With some investigative work regarding their interests, we came up with the idea of getting some mugs made up and personalising them. Chloe and Zoe (the teenage girls) both love clothes and clothes shopping as does any girly girl so their mugs featured vector style ladies and their shopping bags. Zac is into space and loves his telescope so his had the planets and a telescope Riley loves riding his little motorbike so pics of him and his bike went on. Nathaniel loves dragons so of course what else but a dragon! Axl is still a bit young for a china cup so as he loves playing with his dinosaurs we did a shirt with an Axl-saurus on it……. and its a hit because he wants to wear it morning noon and night daily. The other mug has pictures of my daughters dog Jaylee on it with the words For Mum on it and her partner who has Jaylee for most of the week while Bridget is working had For my Other Mum on it. They all absolutely love their mugs and were quite impressed that as they put it…… Its out of the box thinking. Each mug and Axls shirt had From Nanny & Poppy Christmas 2017 on them somewhere and each one also had a small inspirational quote on them. So glad we went down this avenue for presents this year and it made shopping a lot easier. The other 2 grandkids got other things as they are still small. Bella got a Ty Toy (small plush toy) and the new baby Clay, only 2 weeks old, got a big soft teddy with Christmas 2017 on its foot as a keepsake for his first Christmas.

My 2 promotional cards this week are both Birthday florals. One a pretty spring card with butterfly (take a look at the made card) and one of my Xtenda card designs. These fold in for posting and extend for the recipient to hang up.

Stockport Vintage Fair by Rachael Dunne

Last weekend I went to the Stockport Vintage Fair with my mum. It was a lovely day and it was so interesting to see all the antiques, artefacts and fashions from years gone by. Things like old toys and certain patterns brought memories flooding back from when I was a child, memories I had completely forgotten I had. Isnt it amazing how seeing one item can bring something flooding back to you as though it only happened yesterday? The cars were particularly impressive, they were so well looked after, some of them looked brand new! The Fair was held in Stockport Indoor Market which was the perfect location; with the vintage cars parked outside, people dressed in vintage fashion and music playing from the 50s and 60s, it felt like being transported back in time!

Heres a couple of boxes I have designed for Valentines Day - both have matching cards to go with them. I hope you like them, thanks for taking a look! xxx

Do you like my nails Nana? by Carol Clarke

We had a make a mercy dash this week to have extra cuddle & giggle days eith Olivia and Austin. My youngest son has been a runner since his early teens and was Notts 400m junior champion plus he represented Notts at the schools national championships. In recent years although he no longer competes he still loves running. As well as running daily he also runs every weekend doing the local Park Run. Unfortunately this week his local Park Run was called off so he went further afield to do a Forest Park Run ... and that was his undoing! He managed to turn his ankle the wrong way around, hes not sure how this happened only that he was running one minute and on the floor the next! lol Anyway we dashed off to look after the children whilst he was taken to Casualty. Inevitably he was there for hours and hours but thankfully he hadnt broken it although it was very badly sprained. His ankle is in full technicolour now and he hobbles beautifully! Whilst we were waiting 5 year old Olivia wanted me to do her nails ... aghhhhhhhhhhh ........... no nail polish to hand ... sooo we improvised with these rainbow coloured kazoos! lol

Unexpected Heat... by Clare Walker

News just in: there is still somewhere warm you can visit without having to leave the country. And to prove it, here`s a picture of a bird-of-paradise plant we saw whilst we were there. What`s more, the building of which it`s a part isn`t somewhere you`d normally associate with plants at all. Any guesses? Believe it or not, this plant and its sub-tropical plant friends are all growing in a conservatory on top of the Barbican Centre. I`d vaguely remembered cultural school trips to plays or concerts there many years ago. But horticulture? That was a new one on us both, and a welcome find last week. So if you should find yourself freezing in central London, it turns out that you can just head for a glasshouse. Who knew...

So Glad to be Back! by Maggie Skerrett

Nearly 2 years ago, my husband had a devastating stroke, and my world, as I knew it crumbled into a blur of ambulance sirens, doctors, grim prognosis, hospital visits, rehabilitation, and a man that had to fight with his body to do every little thing that was always taken for granted. Before his stroke, I had vaguely remembered a thing that circulated on Facebook. It was how to recognise a stroke. I must have tucked it away in the back of my brain and filed it with all the other stuff that circulates. I am so glad I did... it was because of that article, that instantly came back into my mind, I was able to recognise exactly what was happening and was able to tell the emergency operator. Because of that information, a specialist ambulance was there within a couple of minutes and Hubby was on his way to a specialist stroke unit over 100 kilometres away. If I can stress on anyone.... please learn the signs of stroke. FAST = The acronym stands for Facial drooping, Arm weakness, Speech difficulties and Time to call emergency services. The photo is of Hubby in the rehab unit... he was allowed visits by his best friend.... who was often kidnapped by the nurses and shared around the other patients. She was very spoiled during her visits. Our fight is not over, but it has taken all this time to finally be able to think about doing things that I used to love doing... and of course the main thing is Card Designing. Please remember ....FAST

Boxing Day Fun! by Sue Way

We had a lovely Boxing Day with the girls. After the frenzy of opening presents, we had a nice meal, then went for a bracing walk on the beach with the dogs. You can see by the picture how close we live to the beach as we live on the estate you can see behind the girls, just one road back. It takes us minutes to walk there. It was very cold, but it gave the girls a chance to wear the new coats we bought them for Christmas. I love how Imogen is wearing hers with her party dress lol I have added a few more Sweet Little Ladies this week and a couple of wedding mini kits for horse lovers. http://www.craftsuprint.com/sue-way/?r=968387

Cooking in a French Kitchen by Judith Henry

One of my favorite memories of our trip to France was having dinner in a chefs home. He took us shopping for all the ingredients for a wonderful lamb chop dinner with blanched pears, fresh herbs from the garden and lots of wine pared with the appetizers, salad and main course. The best part was meeting his wife and having the meal together. These simple exchanges of culture is what makes traveling so rewarding.
