Im taking a paint class! by Janice Shehan

I am so very excited about my new painting class. It is taught by internationally acclaimed One Stroke artist Donna Dewberry from right here in Florida, USA. Ive tried her technique many times before, but I am not satisfied with the results. When I saw this retreat coming up in November, I hopped to it and enrolled. The site is about 8 hours drive through beautiful Tennessee mountains. I am so looking forward to this and learning to be a better painter. Of course, Ill never stop digital designing, this is my passion and forte. Hope everyone has a terrific week. xx Thanks for looking, Janice.

A Huge `Thank You` by Clare Walker

This week, it`s time for huge `thank yous`.The first one is to my lovely hubby. In the face of a load of other journeys, commitments and running around, he still managed to remember our anniversary, ...topping things off with the surprise flowers in the picture, and the comment, `I thought you`d enjoy drawing these flowers, `cos they`re more unusual than the ones I usually get.` (What more support could a designer ask for...? And I`m grateful for it every. single. day). The point of my writing about this is much wider though. It struck me then that whilst we all *think* we`re all beavering away on our own, in fact, its only possible because of others: be they understanding friends and family, loyal pets, internet buddies, website staff and of course, every lovely person who buys, visits, shares and/or makes our wares. And someone who s still just months into CUP, rather than years, that`s my second, even bigger thank you.

Here are a couple of my latest items (and yes, one of them was `sunflower-inspired`)...

At the fair by Carol Dunne

My local art society has only been going a couple of years, we meet every Wednesday morning and have had some successful art exhibitions. This morning group is full and has a waiting list. So last September we decided to start an evening group, this plods along quite nicely but as spaces appear in the morning group some of the evening group have moved across . Meaning that we need some more members to make the evening group viable. Last weekend there was a vintage car rally at the cricket club so we set up stall with some examples of our artwork hoping to attract some new members. We had about 4 people interested so hopefully they will join our happy throng. The photo shows me and a fellow artist Barbara with some of our art samples.

Two of my latest pop and twist designs

Blowing their Trumpets! by Tina Fitch

Went down to Bournemouth last weekend to the Air show.. What a beautiful day it was too, We arrived the evening before and spent the night with our Daughter Sarah and our twin Granddaughters... in their rented caravan in Weymouth, That was lovely too.Saturday morning was up nice and early to vacate the holiday camp and off to Bournemouth for the show, it was an hours drive from where we were staying and we thought we may have issues with the traffic but it was plain sailing right there! Got to the car park where we did park and ride to the seafront much better than trying to find a space there.. was quite cheap too.. anyway got parked up and onto the bus to take us there.Got there at just after 11am and walked down to the beach, However I wish now Id stayed at the top it was a very steep walk down the zig zag paths to the beach. I have a problem with my right knee so walking up and down made it quite painful.Anyway got down there made ourselves comfortable on our chairs.. and got ready to welcome the air craft. The photos this week is one of the Red Arrows display and it looks like they are blowing their own trumpets LOL... Good shot I thought.. Had a lovely day and took so many photos.. Look out for next weeks as I am at RAF Scampton this weekendThanks for your continued support, Files this week are 3d easel cards both come with box templates too so you dont have to fold them down..https://www.craftsuprint.com/tina-fitch/

Theodore Roosevelt National Park by Debra Laraway

Over the summer we spent a few weeks up in North Dakota taking care of my husbands parents. We took a fun day to go over to Theodore Roosevelt National Park in the Western part of the state, and do the driving tour. Theodore Roosevelts visit to the badlands was his inspiration for his ideas on conservation. Its a very stark, but beautiful, land. We saw lots of wildlife, including buffalo with their babies.

The pop out card sample is inspired by out visit to the badlands.

Weeping willow. by Anne Lever

My mum and I recently went on a lovely river walk in a local village. It was a gorgeous sunny day. We saw ducks, swans, and plenty of ripples in the water, so the fish were about too. I saw a huge weeping willow, and did something I havent done since my childhood, I ran under its drooping branches to look at the world from the inside out! I took a photo to capture the memory. A beautiful day.

Ice Cream ... Of Course! by Carol Clarke

We let 5 year old Olivia choose where we should go for her last Cuddle n Giggle Day outing of the school summer holidays and she surprised us by asking o come back to our house (or Nana house as she calls it .... I dont know where she thinks Grandad lives! lol. We were lucky that it was another lovely sunny day and of course she had to have ice cream. She seems to think its enshrined in law that she should have ice cream when we go out! Next week sees us going back to the normal routine of taking 2 year old Austin out and collecting Olivia from school, but it wont be too long before she gets to come out with us again in the half term holidays.

First day at big school by Dianne Jackson

Today was Amelias first day at big school. She was 4 on the 8th August so she is one of the youngest in her class. Here she is pictured with her cousin, Annalise (on the left) who is in the same class as her. She was so excited to be going and she had a great day and came home so happy. She drew a picture of her family. Her mummy to the left, then Daddy, then her older Brother, Luke and then herself to the right. Pink is her favourite colour so she did herself in pink. Then she added Mitzy the cat and Rocky the dog. I think this is a brilliant picture for her age. She is so bright and knows all her alphabet and can write them all when you ask her, and she can count up to 100 and write all her numbers too.I am showing a design by Marijke Kok that I really love, and also a design by Cynthia Massey because she designed this one especially for me showing my cat, Charlie

PLAYING VERY LARGO ? by Wanda Lipski

There I was together trying to play my piano (Ive been too busy with work this week to get time to go and play the organ in church and couldnt understand why my piano key were sort of ... sticky. No grandchildren (sniff, sniff) and no-one plays the piano but me so I just wiped off the keys and wondered. There I was playing Chopins Raindrop Prelude and I suddenly looked up to see a large blob between the wall and the ceiling. We have a very spidery house, but they tend to signal their presence by mammoth cobwebs, not blobs so I call the cavalry ... I had decided it was a snail. My husband did the necessary and confirm my worst suspicion. It was a snail. We photographed him on the piano keys (another wipe down necessary) but this is one active snail. The trip from the door to the outside and the piano is about 2 meters, up the piano, across the keys, down the piano across the floor and up a 4 metre wall (yes, VERY high ceilings on the ground floor). Makes you wonder if this wasnt a PRESTO snail. Hope he had his passport with him. These are one of my latest designs and another (oldie but goodie) with ... you guessed it ... A SNAIL. ENJOY !

Haunted Dungeon by Diane Hannah

Having a long holiday weekend for Labor Day, my son William and his family decided to have some fun. So they packed the car and headed to South Carolina. While visiting they took advantage of every moment. They went on a haunted dungeon tour, as you can see in the photo, he and Olivia really hammed it up for the camera. They also went kayaking for a little over 4 hours, and to finish off a fun filled weekend they went on a 3 hour boat wildlife Capers Island adventure. Wish I could have been there!

Last Day of the Summer Holidays! by Sue Way

My daughter Kelly brought the girls over on the last day of the summer holidays. They were a bit bored so we put the leads on the dogs and went for a walk along the seafront. Unfortunately, it wasnt warm enough for a paddle in the sea, but the girls had fun running on the greensward, with my Golden Alfie trying to keep up, bless him, then going into the little playground. On the way back they went on the big light house shaped climbing frame. Imogen isnt brave enough to go very high as she is only 6, but our daredevil Jessica went right to the top and back down the slide. This week I have added a few more to my Sweet Little series. I hope you love these as much as I do. http://www.craftsuprint.com/sue-way/?r=968387
