Ancestry... by Janice Shehan

I had previously written about my ancestors from Scotland. However with more research, I discovered that they were originally from France. Long, long ago in an ancient country, I discovered that I am a direct descendent (GRAND DAUGHTER) of Charlemagne, King Charles of France!! I do all my research on ancestry.com if you are interested in your history, I highly recommend this site. Thanks for reading, I just love designing for CUP and am grateful for all my followers and buyers, God bless!

New items for the holidays. Check back often, I have more coming!

One from the pottery. by Kathleen Francis

I know, I know, very busy, busy, busy. But look at this little Beauty Isnt she gorgeous. Yes Pottery is going well. Not enough Hours in the day though. We have been building a range of these little Beauties, A Big Boy,a Baby, A Little Boy that matches the little Girl in the Picture. My Husband John is in his glory. So long may the energy last hahahahhaah.

Swans & Cygnets by Janyce Cotterill

The Mute Swan, such magnificent birds. We came across this beautiful little family recently whilst out walking. How can you not love these fluffy little cygnets, all swimming together in a neat line. Such joy. The two proud parents were fussing over their brood and kept a watchful eye on all they did. I must go back to the lake soon and see how they are all getting along. In the meantime Im leaving you with my two latest festive themed insert kits. One insert pack with my verses on the other, blank for your own messages. These are great value for money kits with lots of versatility for you in your Christmas crafting. Thank you for your interest. I hope you enjoy these designs and verses.

Kite Surfing by Valerie Dawes

Id never actually seen kite surfing close-up before, so was fascinated to find that there is a section of beach dedicated to only that at Camber in East Sussex. Have to admit that there is also an ice cream van and the lovely sandy beach is perfect for an afternoon paddle - both of which I indulged in...... decided Id give the kite-surfing a miss though!

Here are a couple of my latest designs. Having such fun creating these!

Nice day out by Joan King

Today was my regular trip into town for a medical appointment and hubby came with me. After we had finished that we had a walk down to the port where the ships come in. It was a beautiful day with lovely blue skies and not too many people about just yet as we are still in winter. We then went back to a lovely cafe and had a healthy lunch - well I did anyway..... Then we stopped off at the main beach and went for a nice walk and finally home at 2pm. Now I am getting ready to baby sit and will probably go down to the local park. Its lovely when you get these sunny days and it is still winter and the temperature is around 16 degrees today. Hubby took this photo of me at the end of wharf with the Mount in the background.

Here are two of my latest designs. Happy Crafting.

Back to School by Judith Henry

This week my granddaughter started kindergarten. Big moment! Would liked to have been there but it was a special family moment and too early and far away to get there. This picture shows baby Lillian walking behind big sis Gwen and mommy. Dont worry. Daddy was taking the picture and wasnt far away. For this occasion I created the Sassy Cheryl - Magic Slider Card - Read to Me - Template. I made one for each girl since I knew Gwen wouldnt want her sister to play with heres. The kit contains two Sassy Cheryl digital stamps in a pdf for hand cutting. It also has the cutting files and pdf to automate or handcut.

The Aletsch Glacier by Silvia Griffin

THis is a piture of my Trip back to Switzerland last year. The Aletsch Glacier or Great Aletsch Glacier is the largest glacier in the Alps. It has a length of about 23 km.It is in the eastern Bernese Alps in the Swiss canton of Valais. The Aletsch Glacier is composed of four smaller glaciers converging at Concordia Place, where its thickness was measured by the ETH to be still near 1 km (3,300 ft)The whole area, including other glaciers is part of the Jungfrau-Aletsch Protected Area, which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2001.

ANOTHER FRENCH ODDITY by Wanda Lipski

I love sharing with you all the odd customs and traditions here in France ... its always so nice to see how the other half lives, isnt it. Well this was spotted during our recent trip to the Drome (lavender country) and was a new one on me. The French love not to bury their dead in the ground, but in concrete lined underground vaults. I can confirm that it is really unnerving to see a coffin being carried down steps into one of these underground chambers and placed reverently atop another relative whose funeral you attended a couple of years previously!!! Such vaults are often then covered with (vast marble slab) and since theres no earth in sight, theres no planting of flowers and people place marble plaques on little stands on the tombs. These are called Ex-voto. In this little cemetary, the marble plaques were NOT predominant, the most common ex-voto being these floral tributes in a sort of glazed pottery (this is NOT a region known for its porcelain or pottery) that seemed to weather extremely well. Fascinating and rather beautiful.

In Tractor Heaven! by Carol Clarke

2 year old Austin loves all large and working vehicles from lorries and buses to diggers and tractors. In fact we have often had to detour on our cuddle and giggle day walks around the parks to examine a vehicle! So imagine his excitement and sheer joy at there being not one but three tractors in the courtyard at Hardwick Hall this week .... and not only that be he got to climb and drive them too! I can confidently say that we had a very very happy little boy this week! lol

Alfies Hydro! by Sue Way

My Golden Retriever Alfie is 12 now & had a lot of arthritis. He recently started on a course of injections which have really helped, but our vet told us that the muscles in his back end were getting very weak & wasted. He encouraged us to take Alfie to hydrotherapy to help build the muscles back up. Well, he has had 3 sessions now & absolutely loves it! He went about 6yrs ago and we are sure he remembers it as he was so confident & as soon as he got in the pool he was swimming like a pro! The hardest part is stopping him from leaping into the pool as soon as he gets through the door lol We can already see a difference in him.

Autumn greetings from Finland! by Taina Kankare

The autumn winds are here, and the summer is soon over. Yesterday I noticed something strange, which in my opinion proves the theories of the climate change true. I saw the rowan tree in front of our house both having blossoms and ripening berries. This happened also last year. Last winter we did not have much snow, neither cold. I must say that it was a disappointment. The temperature in winter here in southern Finland should be somewhere like -5 Centigrades to -20 Centigrades. A thick cover of snow protects the plants from the cold, so it would have also been welcome. But no, we had a wet and almost snowless winter. During the summer we did not have many hot days. In fact I like, when it is not too hot, but there are others, who would gladly welcome temperatures over +25 Centigrades. If the weather in Midsummer is colder than in Christmas, it is somehow ridiculous. We Finns have started joking about this saying, that we nowadays have only two seasons: during the first season it sleets or snows and during the other one it rains.

Have a Guess Where This Is... by Clare Walker

If you looked at this sunflowers, wrapped around wooden signs, near peaceful woodland, a pond and lush vegetation, where might you think I`d found it?Your first guess (unless you already know the place from the sign) probably wouldn`t be Next to Arsenals Football ground. But in fact, Gillespie Park ( a small 3.4 hectare nature reserve) is so close to the Emirates Stadium that the Park has to close on match days, to protect it`s surprisingly large range of butterflies, birds, mammals, frogs and other wildlife.I believe it was originally an old railway storage siding. But I prefer it as a haven for wildlife and inspiration in the city.

Girls Day Out by Diane Hannah

My daughter-in-law Morgan does so many fun outings with my granddaughter Olivia. On this day Morgan took Olivia and her friend for a fun filled day out! The first thing on the agenda was nails, a manicure and a pedicure. Lots of excitement there. Next was a lovely luncheon, To finish off the afternoon was some shopping. What girl doesnt like to shop?? After some shopping, it was time for the day to wind down. A leisurely drive home some television and bed. What a fun day!

Heather by Gillian Hutchinson

The heath where we walk our dogs is just bursting with colours just now that goes all the way to the cliffs at the beach. We walked the woodland area this week for a change and it was lovely in every direction we looked. Seemingly there is three types of heather that grow here. The most common species is Common Heather or ling. Bell Heather and the third, Cross-leaved Heath.
