The Creel Loaders by Janyce Cotterill

We have recently had a few days away and came across this interesting sculpture which celebrates the fishing heritage of Dunbar in East Lothian, Scotland. It highlights the towns connection with the herring trade. During the 18th & 19th century fishwives used to carry huge creels (large wicker baskets for holding fish) filled with herring and travel along a route known as The Herring Road from Dunbar to the markets in Lauder. The baskets were often so heavy it often needed two men either side of the woman, as the statue shows, to assist getting the creel onto the fishwifes back., a back-breaking job thats for sure! This statue is carved by Gardner Molloy, Stonemason and Sculptor. Ill share more of my mini-break with you over the next few weeks. As this mailer item is on a fishing theme I am leaving you with one of my fishing themed sheets and one of my latest designs. Thank you for your interest.

Family Weekend by Janice McFarlane

Last weekend I was so excited because my Daughter, her husband and two grandchildren were visiting us. They were only here for the day, as they had come up from R.A.F. Benson in Oxfordshire where they live, so I dont get to see them all that often. What made it extra special was seeing my three week old grandson Harry for the first time. Alfie the eldest grandson ran up to me with a big hug and a kiss and was quick to tell me the dos and donts of handling Harry. Alfie is like a little old man, way older than his five years, more like five going on fifty. We went out for lunch then gathered at my Stepdaughters house to introduce Harry to his Aunty Stephanie, Uncle Chris and Jack and Evie, his cousins. It was lovely for everyone to be together the only one missing was my eldest granddaughter Darcey who doesnt live locally either. Lots of photos where taken and as well as my four grandchildren posing nicely, there was a moment when my daughter captured a natural shot of them all, which was lovely, although poor Harry looked a little lost sat on Alfies knee. Once in a blue moon family get togethers like this happen which makes it even more precious.

These are two of my newest kits, in my Flectere Mini Kit range. Very easy to make and they also lay flat to fit into the Envelope which is also included in the kit.

Been a minute by Sharon Medeiros

Hello, So I said I would post pictures after Easter lol Im a bit late and the pictures are still on the chip in my Nikon. The kids did have a blast at the Easter egg hunt which is such a blast to watch. Lately I have been crafting cards and wow it is so much fun! Talk about such an outlet to the everyday stresses of the world . I dont usually get a lot of time to myself that is why my consistency with designing is up and down. Tristan my son now is almost 4 and will be starting school ( time flies !!! wow I know I will be the crier on the first day... and week lol) but he is also interested in making his own cards just like Mommy which allows me more time to craft , on the other hand Avery Just wants to dance and play! Here is a picture of Tristan taking a picture of my last card I made lol my little man !

SHARING THE ICE CREAM by Wanda Lipski

Weve been sweltering here in France with daytime temperatures hitting the 40, even in the mountains/hills where I live and nighttime temperature still around 25C. FAR too hot for an English flower that starts to wilt at anything over 24C. Only natural then that we should turn to ice cream to help keep life bearable, but I am not the only lover of the cool dessert ! My hubby snapped this and although its (not a very flattering photo of me, (thats putting it mildly) I admit but I just had to share what I had realised. My Misty dog was sneaking licks too. Although Ive been quiet on CUP due to the temperatures, I have got a few new calendars for you, so ENJOY!

My little Fox by Kelly Barker

Imogen had a school assembly this week, normally she is a narrator as she reads and remembers her lines well, but this time she was very excited to be a fox. Its a busy week for Imogen as she is in a show with her big sister on Saturday, so her school assembly was a nice warm up for her. She has had a great week at school and all the children got to meet their teachers for next year today and Imogen loved telling me that her new classroom hasnt even been built yet. As the end of term is only a few weeks away I have been busy designing these wonderful thank you teacher quick cards. They are suitable for teaching assistants too and I have put them all on special offer. 9 different designs available and a matching insert too.

The Norfolk and Suffolk Aviation Museum by Gillian Hutchinson

This week we popped into the aviation museum. Unfortunately, the weather was not that great and just poured with rain so we never got to spend as much time there as we would have liked. There was so much information to take in as everything was very well described and really interesting to read. The picture is a GLOSTER JAVELIN FAW.9R, there were so many planes and helicopters to see that we will be back at a later date to take it all in.

Braves by Diane Hannah

This is my daughter-in-law Morgan, and my granddaughter Olivia. They are spending a wonderful afternoon at an Atlanta Braves game. Just the two of them to spend some quality mom - daughter time for Olivias birthday. She had her face painted with the Braves logo, got a fabulous tee shirt, and had a great time with her mom! She is growing up way too fast. Then she had a birthday pool party with family and friends. Awesome!

Lunch at St Bernards by Vicki Avcin

Well last week I said I would tell you more of my trip to Brisbane to spend time with family. Sunday with Paul and Kelly we all went up to St Bernards Hotel on Mt Tamborine (in the Gold Coast hinterland) for lunch. Driving up Mt Tamborine is a beautiful drive whether its a sunny or rainy day. Located on the edge of an ancient volcanic escarpment, on a sunny day you can see all the way to the coast with views of Tamborine Valley, Moreton Bay and the Gold Coast and on a rainy day the mountain is shrouded in cloud and mist, which is what it was like on the Sunday. It is a beautiful eerie feeling driving along the narrow roads when it is all misty and foggy. We arrived at St Bernards and were greeted at the door by Molly and her puppy Chiraz, 2 beautiful gentle St Bernard dogs. Molly is the Mum and Chiraz is the 12 month old pup they have that greet guests and wander round lapping up the attention. St Bernard dogs have always been part of the history since it was built. St Bernards house was built by Robert Muir in 1881 on what is now the Council Quarry on Kaiser Rd as an accommodation house for the manager and staff. He also bought 2000 acres of scrubland at the top of the mountain where it was intended to grow sugar cane. After Mr Muir was drowned in floods in 1887, the following owners moved St Bernards to its present site in 1898. The main part of the current hotel (lounge and public bar) was built in 2012-2014 when it got its hotel licence. Up to then it had been used as accomadation for up to 100 guests. Today it is one of the most popular hotels in the hinterland and the largest and most famous. Good country home style atmosphere with great food and one of the best views around! Lovely and cool in summer and very cosy with the fireplaces in winter. And yes the food was excellent. By the time wed finished lunch the weather had cleared a little and we could see almost to the coast while we walked around the beautiful gardens. It was a wonderful relaxing lunch but we had to head off and back to Bridgets for the rest of my time down there. Photos are of driving up to and through Mt Tambourine and the Hotel and of course Molly and Chiraz.

Promotion is my DL Centre Ribbon Cards.
