Weymouth Bridge by Valerie Dawes

Spent a gorgeous day in Weymouth on the south coast recently. Unusually, the sun shone and the sky was a brilliant blue. Took this photo of the towns famous bridge which was opened in 1930, having cost a princely £90,000 to construct. There has been a bridge on the site since 1597, though initially it would open only occasionally. Now it opens every 2 hours and still causes huge fascination for the passing crowds - me included!

These designs serve a double purpose - they make a fun birthday card, which can then be cut to create a fairy door for the wall or skirting. A card and gift in one! More to come.

Outdoor Wedding Planning by Judith Henry

This week I had the pleasure of designing a wedding invitation for a woman who has a storybook romance. You can read her story at http://dreamsdocometrue.love/#ourstory. After many years she met up with her high school sweetheart and is now planning their wedding. The wedding will be outside in a wooded area. The grooms will wear vests and boots. This was a challenge which I embraced. I have put the two designs I created up for sale in my shop.

A Lovely Day Out by Anne Lever

My Mum and I try do go somewhere different every week, to have a wander, stop for a coffee, and generally have a bit of a day out. This week we ended up at Cheddar. It is full of gift shops, tearooms and boutiques. It has a gorgeous river running through it, with many little waterfalls and rocky areas. My favourite bit has to be buying a christmas bauble from the year round christmas shop!

New Camera by Tina Fitch

Oh WOW my hubby bought me a new camera and what a piece of kit it is! We went to RAF Lakenheath this week for me to try it out..watching the F15s take off and land. The sky was blue the sun was shining it was just beautiful. O M G look at the photo its so crisp and sharp! After the initial trying and getting nothing in the view finder I finally did it! Those jets are so fast and you have to be quick to catch them hahahah.. Took me a couple of goes to manage to catch them but I did it in the end, I am so proud of myself lol.. So thats another hobby I now have... See you next week for more I hope!

New Shoreline by Debra Laraway

This was a very dry spring in Florida, though things are getting better. I took this picture of the shoreline on one of the lakes we kayak on. Normally this area is under water, and I would be kayaking over top of the beach area. The water should go all the way up into the bushes on the shore. The water is only a few inches deep a ways out from the beach as well. My kayak was grounded when I was taking this picture.

Story Book by Carol Clarke

Each week on our Cuddle & Giggle Day I take a small gift for 5 year old Olivia. This weeks gift was a rather pretty small notebook and a seahorse shaped rubber. Olivia immediately decided the notebook was going to be a story book with pictures and she soon fetched her coloured pencils and started drawing ... Im sure you can tell just by looking at the photo that the first picture she drew was of me! lol

Abbeys Rose by Sue Way

When my precious Golden Retriever Abbey passed away 3 years ago, people were very kind, sending cards & gifts. Our friends sent us a beautiful rose bush called Abbys Rose It is very pretty, but a bit prickly, just how she was, as she was a bit of a Diva lol It is such a comfort to me to see it flower every year & it smells lovely too. This week I have added a few more Sweet Little ladies. I hope you love them as much as I do as I will be uploading lots more very soon. http://www.craftsuprint.com/sue-way/?r=968387

Lifes a Beach! by Gillian Hutchinson

We have had some great weather the past week, so have spent some time at our local beach which is just a short drive from our house. Our border collie Mak cant get enough of the water and just keeps fetching his ball until its time to go home. We always seem to tire before him! He loves the water, but the shower when he gets home...now thats a different story!

Carnival Fun by Kelly Barker

Last weekend we were involved in our first ever carnival as a family. Imogen and Jessica were dressed up in their Annie and Oliver as the theme was Musicals. Unfortunately the lady who runs their musical theatre group had some sad news the day before so couldnt be in the carnival, but all the parents stepped up and walked the route with the kids. My hubby drove, so he could blast out the music for their upcoming show. It was sprung on us at the last minute that the kids needed to do a 5 minute performance to impress the judges. The children did so well and won 1st place! It was a hot long walk, but all the children did really well and did their group proud, they collected lots of money too. I have lots of lovely sheets with 25% off, please take a look and happy crafting :)

Holidays and Family Reunions. by Vicki Avcin

Last week I left to go to Brisbane for a week to spend time with my family. Been a while and I really needed the break. Travelled down on the train and was met by my daughter at the station. My grandfurbaby Jaylee was in the car also and she was so excited to see nanny. Spent the night at my daughters, then on Friday afternoon she took me over to Brad and Jesss place. Was fantastic to see Zac and Zoe again and little Axl who was only a new baby when we last saw him. Hes one now and well and truly on the move and talking now. He was a little confused to begin with because I am Nanny and Jesss Mum is Nanna so it was very cute watching him work out who was who lol. Then on Saturday they drove me over to Paul and Kellys place. First time Ive seen their new home and seen how much Chloe and Riley had grown. And not forgetting the furbaby Milo. The plan was to stay with them Saturday night but Paul asked if it was OK to go see some friends for a couple of hours that night. So off we went. I had no idea where we were going, but ended up in Brisbane only a couple of streets away from where the kids father and I lived after we got married way back in 1972. We went to this house where there was obviously a party going on and Paul spoke to someone, asked me if I recognised them, and told me their name. I was totally lost!!!! Then he mentioned this persons sisters names and it dawned on my it was my nephew….. Steven. Now I havent seen Steven for at a guess 30years. He was only a kid when I last saw him and hed been living in China for many years. Yvonne and Danielle (his sisters) turned up so it was a real gob- smacked night of surprises. It has been 9 years since Id seen the girls (at Paul and Kellys wedding). A little apprehension but a lot of nostalgia for the few hours we were there!! Sunday Paul and the family took me back over to Bridgets place and we had a couple more hours all together. I spent the rest of my time down there with Bridget. In the next couple of weeks Ill try and do more stories of my adventures while on my holiday.
