Vellum Project Research and inspiration by Judith Henry

I have to admit, Im a paper addict. My latest purchase is a sample pack of colored vellum. My resource had a limited selection of colors and I have never used it in any of my projects. Ive seen it use in wedding invitations, as an overlay on sections of cards and in embellishments. Im hoping to find some old and new ways to use vellum in my cutting designs. Im playing around right now, but as soon as Ive got a design Ill post it. But for now, enjoy my Spring collection of flowered cards.

THE SECRETARY BIRD by Wanda Lipski

The secretary bird, known in French as the snake killer was one of the stars of THE definitive bird show at PUY DU FOU where Kiwanis France-Monaco held their annual congress 2017. Were all seen a show with a hawk or two flying low over our heads, but this show is just out of this world with dozens of birds of prey, and STORKS (yes, Maternity units have to deliver babies, the storks are all show birds in France and far too busy being stars!)doing much the same things, but so much more spectacularly, due to their incredible number. Yet, for me the undoubted star was this secretary bird, who strutted into the arena to show us its incredible talents. Please all note that I am on 20% designer discount this weekend, so its the ideal moment to visit my store. ENJOY!

The Magic Grotto by Anne Lever

I am completely in love with the piece I am cross stitching at the moment. I am slightly obsessed with cross stitching anyway, but this piece is really lovely. It is called The Magic Grotto. I am stitching it on 25 count evenweave, that is 25 stitches per inch. I am on page 10 out of 24, and as it takes me around a month to do one page, this gorgeous chart will take me a very long time to complete!

Another Retro find! by Sue Way

While we were away in our caravan a few weeks ago, we visited Lowestoft. We found a little charity shop & as we walked in they were just cleaning & putting out this lovely retro dinner service. As you may know we love our retro, so we asked how much they wanted for it. They ummd & ahhhd & settled on £15! We couldnt believe it, what a bargain! We would have paid that just for the pretty cruet set, as we collect cruets. Included were 6 place settings of plates, dessert bowls, cups & saucers, a tea pot, sugar bowl and milk jug, a serving platter & dish & of course the cruet set. The only problem I had when we got it home was finding a home for it all! This week I have added a few more little ladies. I hope you love them as much as I do as I will be uploading lots more very soon. http://www.craftsuprint.com/sue-way/?r=968387

Birthday Girl! by Carol Clarke

Our youngest granddaughter Olivia was 5 this week and as luck would have it it fell on our Cuddle n Giggle Day (or Nana Day as Olivia calls it! lol) Olivia started school last September so she was at school for her birthday and I went to fetch her. First she gave out home made cookies to all her classmates and then, as it was a lovely day, we stopped off at the park on the way home for a while which she loves to do. She was a really Happy Little Girl especially when she put on her new party dress! BTW ... I drew and named the bears in the kits below for Olivia (Livvy to us) and her Brother Austin! lol Below are 2 of my NEWEST designs. Watch out for more Coming soon!!

Bootsale helper by Kelly Barker

Last weekend we set up a stall at a bootsale, its been years since we have done one and we had accumulated a huge amount of stuff in our garage. My husband seems to be a bit of a hoarder, whereas I am quite happy to get rid of stuff, I would love to be able to open a drawer or cupboard which isnt already full! We had amazing weather for the day even though it had rained all week. We took our gorgeous boy Baxter with us and I and Im sure he was attracting customers, with a few of them wanting to buy Him!! He was such a good boy all day, laying in a shady spot and getting up to greet the people who wanted a stroke. We managed to get rid of quite a lot of our stuff which was a big bonus. This week I have lots of Fathers Day designs on special offer and some really fun Teacher designs ready for the summer holidays. Thank you for looking.

Kayaking by Debra Laraway

Heres another picture from one of my favorite places - the kayak. We generally go out at least once every weekend. Weve had hardly any rain this spring, and lake levels are as low as we remember seeing them. Even so,the lakes are pretty busy right now. No one really swims in fresh water lakes here due to alligators, but there is plenty of boating. Just outside the picture frame there are fishing boats. Here in Florida April and May are some of our busiest outdoor months.
