Progress Finally by Denise Lada

Despite all the rain and delay due to the lumber having to be special ordered, due to the length, the roof is in place. Work can now start on the inside after a clearer assessment of damage. We hope to be back in the house by mid July and then we will have to unpack again. Our hopes for the garden are on hold although just after we moved in I ordered a lot of plants which have just arrived and we have to figure out where to put them which is difficult as there is a massive dumpster and storage container taking up a lot of space as well as making it difficult for us to move around. The veggie garden will have to wait until next year though. Grass cutting next week and pulling up dandelions seem to be top of the never ending list of things to do.

**A first for Nuffield Health Leeds Hospital*** by Cynthia Massey

My sister Dianne Jackson had a total hip replacement surgery on Thursday and was back home the same day having spent just 9 hours in hospital. A one-day hip replacement is very rare and a first for the Leeds Nuffield Hospital which is a testament to the hospitals talented team and Diannes good health! I sent Dianne a card made from my latest design wishing her a speedy recovery…..Well you cant get speedier than that and I still cant believe it. Well done Dianne, you truly are an inspiration!

Here are 2 of my latest designs

Mothers Day Fun by Debra Laraway

Last weekend was Mothers Day here in the U.S. One of my presents was a set of clip on lenses and tripod for my phone camera. This is a picture of my hiking buddy and helper beagle, Patches, using the fun fish eye lens. My best present though was one of my daughters usually works weekends, and she took a vacation day to come visit me. Everyone kept it a secret, so it was a great surprise!

Heres my latest fancy fold card cutting file. I hope to have a print and cut version available soon. The rose and fan wrap card is one I found on my computer that I realized I had never uploaded. Thank you having a look at them.

Bluebells Galore by June Harrop

There is nothing worse than being ill and being stuck in the house staring at four walls so the other day i felt well enough to go out for a walk. The sun was shining and it felt so good just to be out in the fresh air. We set off and ended up at the local park. I managed to take this photo of just a few of the hundreds of bluebells that had opened up and looked like carpets of blue laying on the ground. It was a beautiful sight.

These are just 2 of my latest designs. Come over to my shop to see many more. Thank you for looking and for your valued custom xx

Best stick ever! by Sue Way

Alfie may be getting older, but, like all dogs, he still loves his walks. Even though we live right by the beach, he really loves to go to the park as well. The other day I took him to his favourite park, where he gets lots of sniffs & thinks he is the great white squirrel hunter lol On a warm day, he loves to have a roll in the soft cool grass. As soon as we got out of the car, he spotted a brilliant stick, so he threw it up in the air, then rolled on it. He then carried it proudly around the rest of the park, showing it off to all the other dogs. This week I have added a few more little ladies. I hope you love them as much as I do as I will be uploading lots more very soon. http://www.craftsuprint.com/sue-way/?r=968387

Uniform Fitting by Tina Fitch

Wednesday we visited Virgin Atlantic hub! The base for all training and work related things.. We left at 6.30 am so as not to be late for our 9.00 am appointment for the uniform fitting.. The traffic was quite slow and I didnt think we would make it in time, but we sis it with just 20 mins to spare! In we went and got our passes so we could go in.... Amber was taken by a lovely lady into a room, she was gone for quite sometime and I was wondering if we would get to see her in her newly fitted uniform.. The we heard the door open and I could hear the shear excitement in Ambers voice! The she walked into our view.. Oh my goodness I thought to myself. then I could feel tears running down my face.. Of course they were tears of joy.. she looked just perfect! All grown up .. where had my little girl gone? The day I thought Id never see was here...Now the training starts on the 26th June for 6 weeks.. then she will be ready to Fly!

Happiness Comes in Waves by Janyce Cotterill

It doesnt have to the Caribbean, it doesnt even have to be sunny, just to hear the waves crashing to the shore is enough for me. Happiness does come in waves. I need a walk by the sea every so often and luckily we dont live that far from it. So we headed down there this week and I took a few photos of people enjoying the waves and we spotted a seal enjoying it too! And now with the warmer weather starting and the longer days there will be many more trips down there I hope.Im leaving you with a couple of my designs on a sea theme. There is my latest mini-kit is celebrating the sea and another sheet which celebrates the memories we take with us after a holiday by the beach. Thank you for your interest. I hope you enjoy these designs.

VISITING DA VINCI by Wanda Lipski

On a recent visit to the Château dAmbroise in the Loire Valley, we paid our hommage to Leonardo da Vinci, who is buried in the chapel in the grounds of the castle as he was great friend of the king and ended his life in the nearby Clos de Luce, where IBM have reconstructed, from his drawings, most of his inventions. We all know he was a genius, but when you can actually see those drawings come to life, it is quite something. It was a particularly moving moment for me as Leonardo features in two of my recent CELEBRITY series. And just so that you know that I not all serious here is another of my more frivolous creations for you to (I hope) ENJOY! Have a great week?

Baxters Birthday! by Kelly Barker

This week my golden retriever Baxter turned 12! I always say he is my eldest child and I have had him longer than I have been married, I spend the most time with him and he really is my best buddy. I made sure he had a great birthday, but to be honest every day is pretty great for Baxter! I put some chicken on his breakfast, he got lots of new teddies and he had a very soggy walk. He even got to go out for a second walk to pick the girls up from school, so he got lots of fuss at the school gate. I shared this picture of him on Facebook and it got the most likes out of anything I have ever posted, just shows what a soppy, dog loving lot we are. I have 12 backing paper kits on special offer this week, all with 25% off! Thank you for looking.

Collared Sparrowhawk. by Vicki Avcin

Last Wednesday we had a bit of excitement but wasnt good excitement. Was sitting out the front and heard and saw magpies, butcher birds, kookaburras and mickey birds (they are honey eaters) flying round and swooping on something in the front yard. At first we didnt pay a lot of attention as these birds often carry on when there is a goanna or snake in the yard. But they were more full on than usual so decided to go up and look at what all the commotion was about. We saw something brown move on the ground and thought maybe a hare, definitely wasnt a goanna or a snake. As we got closer we saw something bigger on the ground moving round. As we got close a kookaburra swooped and flipped what we then realised was a bird onto its back. The force to flip it was strong as the bird was twice the size of the kookaburra. I told the friend that was here to get a stick and try and fend off the attackers and raced down to grab a towel. The bird managed to get itself back on its belly and we realised it was some sort of hawk. Not like one wed seen around here before. Poor thing let me cover it with the towel and pick it up and we brought it down to the house much to the annoyance of the other birds. We put it on the floor of an empty aviary we have and it didnt move. I rang our local Wildlife Rescue people and they organised for someone to come and get it. We found out it was a young female Collared Sparrowhawk. At first it was thought it was a Brown Goshawk. The Rescue people took her in and checked her and we found out she had healing wounds to her wing and leg. The injuries were about a week old and not done by the birds attacking her. They kept her for a few days and then brought her back out to our place for release. They are territorial so she had to be released close to where she came from. Their food is smaller birds so all those attacking her couldve been her next meal had she been fit and healthy. The only photo I got of her was in the aviary as on release she flew straight up into a tree, slight pause and she was off into a tree in the neighbours place where the birds immediately started harassing her again. Happy to say she took to the sky and flew off and spoilt all the other birds fun. She was a beautiful girl and Im happy that she will be fine. Wonder if we will ever see her in flight around here again?

Spring perennials in bloom by Judith Henry

My friends have been joining in the fun of spotting the first perennials of Spring. Jack in the Pulpit is my favorite to go hunting for. It is so elusive and hides in our nature center. In my own yard I have many new flowers magically popping up. This photo is one. I guess I forgot when I planted these bulbs. I think they are a form of a tulip. Each year they become more abundant. After these blooms the start of David takes its place with its lovely white star shaped flower. What spring garden wouldnt be complete without the lily of the valley and blue bells. Now its time to get the annuals and vegetables planted.

Reservoir Walk by Janet Roberts

Last Sunday we took the two youngest grandchildren for a walk around Wayoh reservoir. They had so much fun climbing trees and paddling in the water in their wellies. Jack found a stick that looked like a fishing rod so he was in his element trying to catch a fish to take home for tea! The weather was beautiful and I managed to get some fantastic photos of them. I feel a scrap book page could be in the making :)
