Stitchery or Needlework Pattern -Snowy Wishes Completed by Pamela Horton The whispering Platypus
OccasionAren't these 2 fellows a sight for Christmassy eyes. I couldn't resist trying out the stitching of these 2 happy fellows on an actual card, instead of onto fabric. I didn't use the transfer technique. Instead, I pricked the pattern onto copy paper, and then on to, the card I had chosen for the topper. It measures,19cm across, and 14.5cm high. I used all sewing threads, for all the stitching. I made the fringe in blue thread, and used a tiny little drop, of clear glue, on my finger tips to smooth it down. For the white snow effect, I had made a tiny pom-pom for the red hat, but it looked odd, so I shaved the fluff from the pom-pom, with tiny dress making scissors. This worked a treat. I made a backing sheet, in apple green, and the main card, is white. All the pieces are attached, with D.S. padded strips. I used tiny, red seed beads, for the Mistletoe berries, and black seed beads, for the eyes ,and the dot on the letter I, in the word Christmas. The Merry Christmas is font 72, and in the script called Catfish Script pro. It was very easy to stitch after pricking the letters. I added silver peel off snowflakes, and stars, randomly on the front, and the red stripe ribbon and bow to the top.
It was fun working this out, and making this very bright Christmas card, designed by DiAnne Simpson. Thank you DiAnne, I will use this on other items as well.
