Film Reel FramesCompleted by Taina Kankare
OccasionOn 6th December 2017 it will be 100 years from the date when Finland became independent. So I planned to make a congratulation card using these frames.
I opened one of the Film Reel Frames into my photo editor. I removed the patterned paper parts. I added the flag of Finland behind every second opening in the film reel border. Then I added a round tag with the numbers 100 on top of the other openings. After this I added the white roses into the right side. Next I added a snowy winter scene and the text "Hyvää Itsenäisyyspäivää". It is Finnish and it means "Happy Independence Day" in English.
I saved the file and printed the sheet. I cut the topper out and attached it on a pearlescent white tent base card leaving broad borders. After this I added 3 decoupage layers to the roses and a ribbon bow into the left side of the card. As a finishing touch I added a square faux gem in the middle of the ribbon bow.
The background color in this photo is wrong. I will add a new one, when I get enough daylight.
