Charming-Exotic BackgroundsCompleted by Pamela Horton The whispering Platypus

I was able to use this beautiful set of background papers to be part of the embellishments and backgrounds for several cards I have made this week, and this is one I have made from the third one labelled C in the series.

I have modified the shade slightly for the card front and the first 2 pages of the insert, and modified the size for each, of the card front and inserts, as needed.

The main card when opened measures 30 cm x 15cm and the extra insert when opened measures 27.5 x 15cm and is scored and folded off centre at 13.5cm.

The main card front backing sheet is printed onto a white card and is edged with a gold metallic pen to enhance the gold frame and measures 14.5cm square and is then attached onto the card front using D.S. tape.

I have then used cup978245_415, Pretty Shades of Water Colour Lilies, a design by Nick Bowley, as the main image for the card and used parts of the sheet provided as embellishments.

The inserts for the first 2 pages are printed onto white copy paper at 12cm square and then attached onto light weight card cut to fit, and edged with the gold pen.

The backing sheet for the left hand side, and the one attached to the front page of the extra insert page are made in the same manner.

For the second and opened pages of the insert, I have used the same number C as before but in shade provided with the sheet, and printed the 2 copies at 14.5cm and trimmed the side of the left hand frame to 13.5cm x 15cm to fit the narrower inside of this insert, and then partially removed the musk pink central square to leave a space measuring 9.5cm square and backed this with a verse printed from one of the selections on the free verse list.

The right hand side is also trimmed to measure 15 x 13.75cm and the central musk pink coloured square has been completely removed to allow a space of 11cm square for a special greeting and many signatures.

The extra insert is attached to the inside section of the back of the card to meet the edge of the attached peel off gold lace edge.

I have used the gold metallic pen to give definition on the edges of the extra white card insert. This square design has such a universal appeal and so many shades to choose from, I will be able to use it many times over while making greeting cards.
