We were lucky enough to spend a few relaxing days in Somerset last week before heading off to see Crafty Bob at the NEC.
There is still evidence of the devastating floods to be seen as you travel around the county.
One place we visited was the Willow & Wetlands Centre. Here they grow willow for basket making, fences etc. and also charcoal for artists' use. They harvest their crop in the winter usually, but this past winter the field of willow has been submerged under up to 12 feet of flood water.
In the picture you can just see in the distance the pumps that were still pumping water, removing a million gallons of water a day.
It had taken 23 days to get to the point in this photo. And as you can see the crop has been left white with pollution. Here's hoping they can save the crop and get their business back on track very soon.

We are lucky enough to live close to The Eden Project, situated in the Clay Country of Mid Cornwall. A visit recently gave us hope that spring is almost upon us after all the stormy weather we have experienced in recent months.
Eden is a great place to visit if you love plants and flowers, and also includes beautiful sculptures. Here are two of my recent floral cards
A massive thank you to all the designers who voted for me in the competition. I was both surprised and delighted to come third. It is my 4th anniversary this month of joining cup, and it has now become a way of life as well as a part time job.
I love every minute of it.
I have made many friends along the way, both crafters and designers, and enjoy meeting with some at the NEC shows. May I also take this opportunity to congratulate Margaret and Dianne, and to also say a BIG well done to all the crafters, who are all winners in their own right. Here's looking forward to many more years of cup life........ and once again......
