3D Daffodil/fuschia Easel CardCompleted by Gwyneth George

As the example above shows, this card looks lovely with both the daffodils and fuschas in place, but I decided that I wanted to make a "Welsh" card, and as daffodils are the flower of Wales, I decided to only use these flowers on this occasion.

I've used 250gsm linen textured cardstock of various types for all pieces of this card. The base card is cut in cream, the "baskets" are cut from a fawn type of colour. The daffodil leaves and greetings panel/stopper out of green, bows out of red, and the daffodils themselves out of two shades of yellow - bright and pastel. After folding the easel card along the scored lines I attached the "basket" pieces. I gently curved them and attached just with a blog of quick grab glue just below the fold line. Into the bottom of these I put a blob of glue gel and stuck the daffodil leaves down into this. I made up the dafodils, again using quick grab glue to put them together, working the trumpets around the stick of a paint brush to round them before sticking, and holding it in to press against until the glue had caught. I used the same glue again to attach the dafodils and bows to the card.

I'm so pleased with how this card turned out, and, as I know somebody who loves fuschias, the next time I may make it up with just fuschia flowers on the front - two coloured, red and purple ones. That's the beauty of cutting files - you can make the cards up in the recipient's favourite colours - or whatever you happen to have in your crafty stash if you don't want to be specific for one person.
