I cut the main card from 220gsm white linen cardstock and the backing plate from a red mirror card. I then used double side tape and glue to attach the backing plate behind the main image.
This gave such a striking butterfly that I decided to leave the front of the card plain for maximum effect.
I added an adhesive metallic butterfly to the inner part of the card to finish.

I cut this from 160gsm white card. I coloured the backing plate with chalk and set with hairspray. I added 4 gold peeloff corners and surrounded the butterfly with gold edge peeloff. I added gold Happy Birthday peeloff to the butterfly's body.
