Butterly Oval Frame
Photographs from the Community
I cut the design out of 240gsm white card using my CraftROBO, cutting several of the small individual butterflies. After releasing the tiny landlocked areas where a small number had caught, and freeing the cutouts from the card I gook the second layer and sprayed with a cranberry coloured mica mist spray. I put glue over the front of all the individual butterflies and covered them with glitter.
I prepared a base card from background cup4483 printed onto Super Smooth white card, then trimmed, scored and folded. Onto this I stuck a mat of silver mirror paper. The main circle of butterflies was left white and stuck directly to the silver mat using some glue gel as a nearly flat glue. The wings on the butterflies on the next layer were shaped and the ring of butterflies was stuck in place using small blobs of glue gel behind the thorax of each one, leaving the wings slightly raised. I then shaped the wings of the glittered butterflies and using the same glue stuck these over every other butterfly in the ring and put three "flying" in the centre.
Whether used to frame an oval image, or used as an embelishment on its own, this design is realy beautiful.
