I love this design by Dreaming Tree. First of all, I made the full-size Hoot - which stands about 12 inches high. It was straightforward to cut the pieces on my Brother Scan n Cut CM700 and equally straightforward to assemble, by following Dreaming Tree's online video tutorial.

I chose a variety of colours and tones of brown and gold card but decided to vary it a bit by using a patterned dusky pink printed card for the front body panels.

In order to make 'Baby Hoot', I re-sized the design to half the original. Again, I primarily used shades of brown but this time added some burnt orange and used a metallic felt tip pen to highlight the front body sections.

My latest version is the 3/4 size Hoot.
