Trivet In Felt

A decorative felt trivet with cut-out "stones" tied with embroidery floss.

Cut a small random stone shape from 5mm acrylic felt. Cut about 30-40 rounded "stones" out of felt in other colours. Cut rounded edges so that the felt resembles flat stones.

Arrange the stones to fit along the edge and match the colours. Use a threaded needle to stich into the front and back, then tie a knot in the front. The trivet can withstand normal use but not very hot grill pans or frying pans.
