1

Print out the PDF template, place it on the fleece blanket and cut out, with no seam allowance, until you have all the parts.

2

Sew the parts onto the bird's front with zigzag stitches. If you do not have a sewing machine you can just sew the parts on by hand with a piece of thread. When all the parts are sewn on, put the front and the back piece together, front side against front side.

Now sew the pieces together, front side against front side. If you wish to make hornets, then put them inside the bird with the ends sticking out through the seam. Now sew in the base. Remember to leave a small hole for turning the bird inside out before finishing the sewing.

4

Turn the bird inside out so the right side ends up on the outside. Fill it with stuffing until it is a suitable size. Sew the last hole with a needle.

Cut out all the parts using the template. Only add extra seam allowance for the outer sides of the body and the scarf (not the base). Sew the hair onto the face. Then sew this onto the scarf and then sew the whole head onto the body. You can sew by hand or zigzag stitches using the sewing machine. Embroider eyes and the mouth with black acrylic yarn. Sew the two body parts together on the sewing machine. Sew in the base but leave a hole for the stuffing. Turn inside out and fill with the stuffing. Finish with a couple of handfuls of plastic pellets before closing.
