A Stick with a Windmill made from Rainbow Card

The windmill consists of eight sails made from rainbow card using a template. Each sail tip is gathered in the middle with an eyelet and a stub wire and then the windmill is then attached to a flower stick using cloth tape.

Print the template (2 pcs.), which is available as a separate PDF file for this idea. Cut out and draw onto rainbow card and cut out. Now place the two parts on top of each other, so as to form eight sails.

Make a hole in the middle with hole punch pliers and assemble the windmill with an eyelet. Use an eyelet setter.

Make a hole in each sail using hole punch pliers.

Assemble all the sails in the middle with an eyelet, loosely fitted for now.

NB: Do not assemble too tightly as it may then prevent the windmill from turning.

Try to keep an equal distance between the eight sails before attaching the eyelet permanently with the eyelet setter.

Attach the stub wire onto the flower stick using cloth tape. Let 10cm of the stub wire protrude.

Use round nose pliers for bending the protruding part of the stub wire downwards over the flower stick.

Thread two beads onto the stub wire and then put the windmill onto the stub wire. Finish with a bead and bend the stub wire. Cut off the excess stub wire using side cutter.
