A Christmas Tree

Simple Christmas trees made from Vivi Gade Design cotton fabric (the Skagen series). Put onto a metal stand and decorated with a star made from floral wire.

Using a pencil draw a Christmas tree onto a piece of fabric x 2 (right side facing out), each piece of fabric meassuring 12 x 14cm. Draw on the right side of the fabric.

Sew the two trees together along the pencil line with small tacking stitches by hand or on the sewing machine – leave a 2cm opening at the base of the Christmas tree. Fill the tree with polyester stuffing and close the hole with tacking stitches.

Cut off the surplus fabric by cutting close to the stitching.

Attach the Christmas tree onto the metal bar and stand.

Make the star from floral wire.

Either sew or push the star onto/into the top of the tree.

Variation: Cut a large Christmas tree from fabric using the template. Sew, following the same procedure as the small tree but without the metal stand.
