1. Measure your table. If you wish your table runner to lie lengthwise, the finished measure has to be within the table edge. If you wish your table runner to lie crosswise, the triangular piece is to hang over the edge of the table. 2. Cut the pieces so that the length fits the wanted measure. Let the scarfing be along a stripe, then it is not easily seen. The width is approx. 48cm. Sew the pieces together. 3. Stipple fabric paint on a stamp (see photo 1). Press on the cloth (see photo 2 and 3). 4. Cut paper strips 7cm wide and fold them double. Fold them around the cloth edges (to get the right angle) and tape them together at the points. Remove the paper from the fabric and cut them as showed on the picture (stippled lines). 5. Cut paper strips 7cm wide. Using the paper templates cut the ends with 1cm to seam. 6. Stitch the fabric edges together. Fold them lengthwise and press. Make sure that the edges fit together with the cloth. Fold 7mm on one side and press. Place again the edges around the cloth, straight stitch with needles and sew 2mm. from the folded edge. 7. Make two tassels as photo 4 by twisting embroidery yarn around four fingers. Sew them on the two points.
