Poinsettia VellumCompleted by Margaret Mountstephens
OccasionI printed this background sheet onto plain vellum and fixed it onto a white A4 scalloped card. I cut a strip of dark red card, and topped it with a strip of lime green card, leaving a small red border around. I wrapped this with some lace ribbon and attached to the card, just off centre. I made a large poinsettia flower and two leaves out of more vellum, using a spellbinder die. I put 3 tiny peals in the centre of the flower and attached the flower and leaves to the lower section of the lace wrapped topper. I cut out two small tags, one in red and one in green and put a peel-off greeting onto the red one. I tucked them just underneath the lace and added some pearls to decorate. I added pearls to all the visible poinsettia flowers on the background. To finish, I made a bow, using the lace ribbon, and attached it to the top of the red/green/lace topper. A very elegant card.
This background sheet also works well if you print it off onto printable acetate.
